In this video I get a Syx Moto 50cc Dirtbike running again. I repaired the pull start and then diagnosed the no spark problem. Pull Starter www.amazon.com... Coil www.amazon.com... Contact Info MaryleyJaxGarage@gmail.com
I drilled a small hole in the middle of the air cleaner. Spray a dash of starter fluid thru the hole with the thin straw that comes with the bottle. It’ll crank on the 1st pull every time.
Only found you here now, This has been so very much helpful info, huge thanks for posting this.. Also Extra thanks for having no annoying back ground music, Cheers..
Our little Syx 50 needed a new draw sting kit too but other than that she runs and and runs with a new plug now and then. Cool little camp bike for the kids
My grandson has the same bike, still basically brand new, put it up when it got cold, would not start the next year.. Put new spark plug in still won’t start, wondering how hard it is for a new coil…. My grandson if not happy….
A new coil is pretty easy to put on. Only about 5 bolts total, three on the pull start cover and two for the coil. It could also be bad gas in the carburetor since it sat for a while so I would check and make sure it doesn’t have spark before changing it out.
Hey great video:) Just got one like this for my girl, i suspecting the guy i got it from messed up the wirering. Could you give a short tour of the wireing? Thanks.
I have a 49cc quad, brand new/clean carb, new pullstarter, the sparkplug works i have shocked myself with it. But the quad wont fire up when its alltogether. what else could i change or clean that i havent allready?
So I got a 49cc q2 from a friend since he couldnt fix the spring retraction on the pull start, I fixed that and pull start feels very heavy and janky like it chews a couple of times in the time I pull the string, I removed the spark to check that and was no problem,I also tested the pull without the spark and it pulled smoothly so not a compression issue either. I hear/see the flywheel cranking when I pull so I put some wd40 in the spark socket and nothing but a little bit of smoke! It’s only like a week old aswell and friend bought it brand new. any ideas?
I uploaded another video specifically working on a stuck throttle and new carburetor if you want to get it working again. It should pretty simple to figure out what is going on. I don’t think you would even need to take the carburetor off.
I got a xpro hawk 50cc brand new it won't start i put a new carburetor on it and it won't start I try everything I even change the spark plug won't start it a video on my RU-vid of it please help
It is most likely a spark or fuel problem. When you changed the carburetor was the old one full of gas? There should be a screw on the bottom to drain it, you can loosen it up and make sure gas drips out of the bottom. When you put a new spark plug in did you check and make sure the plug was sparking? If you put the end of the plug against the motor to ground it out and pull on it you should see spark. I have heard of them coming from the factory with bad coils.
@@MarleyJaxGarage there was no gas coming out the carb it was brand new from the factory and there no spark coming out there against the motor I try it Today the last time it came on it stay on a few seconds and when you throttle it cut off immediately
After replacing my pull start the engine still want turn over, could the engine be lock up, I also tried that method with the drill trying to start the engine and it will not turn at all and tip or suggestion
Will it turn over without the spark plug in it? Could be hydro locked or something. What went wrong with it that made you need to replace the pull start?
I think i had a similar issue, i went to clean my carb and when i put the carb back on i put one of the parts upside down, my crank shaft was hitting and wouldn’t turn.
I was watching your video because I have the same one but the one I have the switch on is on the right side more or less where the struck is and it also has the green power button for the green starter and the red power button when I hit the green button with a jumpstar and leave the green button pressed it is as if it were on but I stop pressing the button and it does nothing I changed the new ignition and still had the same problem but I see your video and check if it has sparks and I don't see any sparks, remove the coil and use the voltmeter and it gives the same reading that it told you... now that you recommend me because it is new and I have not been able to use the motocross
I just bought this same bike. Do you happen to know if there is a stator on it? Also would you happen to know if its possible to run a small LED light bar off the coil or stator if it has one? Thanks
@@MarleyJaxGarage you wouldn’t understand how long ive been trying to figure this out but since the connections are different i can just cut them and twist than use eletric tape ?
@@Nate20 The connections should be the same unless you changed the black wire. What kind of connectors do you have? I would put connectors on them so you can easily disconnect. For testing you could just use a wire nut to make sure it will work.
Hey I brought and put the coil pack on, it didn’t work.. Didn’t check like you did for spark, but when taking the wire off the spark plug it came apart.. I will buy another and try again…. If that doesn’t work, any suggestions? Brand new dirt bike, grandson only rode this thing about 20 miles at best…. Hoping it can be fixed cheaply…. Thanks again your videos gives me hope that I can get it fixed….
Hey thanks for watching. My suggestion would be to narrow down the problem. It could be 1 of 3 things. No spark which would mean the coil/stator/kill switch might have an issue. No compression which usually means piston/cylinder problems. Or lastly, lack of fuel pointing to an issue in the carburetor. As long as it’s not a compression issues it should be cheap and easy to fix. I would start with spark like I showed. Then check and see if the spark plug is wet or dry. Could pour a small amount of gas down the cylinder to see if it will pop over. Compression you will either need to rent/borrow/buy the equipment. Hope you get it running again.
@@MarleyJaxGarage thanks again for the advise, Im gonna buy another coil and go from there…. Can’t believe it’s a big issue it’s basically still brand new…. I’m most appreciative….
@@aaronmarcel5026 yea these bikes are made with cheap parts and I don’t think the quality assurance is too good coming out of the factory. Once you get all the kinks worked out it should last a while.
No, the coil should be close but not touching the flywheel. Look at the video here ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-BkazGtDejWI.html (4:15) where I show placing the index card between the magnet and the flywheel.
Just picked up 2 of these used.....they both started and ran great the other day. I get home, only one starts. I took off the pull start on the one that doesn't start.......off the bike, it pulls and spins correctly as it should but when I line it up back on the flywheel and pull = nothing happens (the flywheel won't spin?) something isn't correct. Wondering if I should just purchase another pull start but don't want the same thing to happen. Any input is greatly appreciated!!
I got same problem ,but the pull cord was working then I put fuel in the tank ,then pull cord goes tough and clunky. Cnt buy new parts yet so might try the drill thing
@@MarleyJaxGarage hey sorry for replying but my bike wont start like the exhaust will make a sound but when i pull the the thingy it dosent start i have fuel in it to
The secondary resistance seemed to be fine, it should be .5-3 ohms. The primary resistance was the problem, I believe that should be between 6,000-12,500 ohms.
Dude I an livid right now. Ordered two for my kids for christmas. First one has had ZERO issues. The second, third and now FOURTH wont start. Its crazy because on this last one I literally started it before even putting it together. Now that I spent two hours putting it all together it refuses to start. This company is GARBAGE. BEWARE.
Yea I think they are definitely having some quality control issues. I am making another video now since it came back not running again. Definitely would not recommend someone buying one of these unless they know how to work on small engines.
I have no idea why i bought TWO of these in the past. First one broke down, second one broke down 2 months after driving. These things are just a full on scam for people. I,agine you dont know technical stuff ... you cant fix it!
Nothing should be actually touching the flywheel. If it is touching it could wear down the magnets and cause the motor to be out of balance or break the flywheel.
Absolute garbage and really dangerous for kids. Bought the Holeshot 50cc and the throttle sticks wide open. It was a birthday gift for my daughter. When I contacted them they said they wouldn’t replace the defective parts because it was out of the 30 day warranty… i contacted them less than 60 days after purchase. I can’t let my daughter ride this thing, it’s dangerous! Total junk, buy from a reputable company that will replace defective and dangerous parts.
I’m not sure what you mean. It is shipped by Amazon so it should come from your nearest distribution center. I’m sure the actual manufacturer is a Chinese company if that’s what your asking.
How is this a common problem you people need to send out bikes that have good coils and good parts not defective you should have quality control and have someone that test all the bikes
@DmonDhaBoss to be fair it was working when they sent it out. It just didn’t last very long. I think it’s more of a case of you get what you pay for when buying a complete dirtbike for 350 dollars. I tell anyone that asks about them they should only buy if they know how to work on them. The quality can only be so good at that price point.
@@MarleyJaxGarage yeah I just bought a second bike last week and it never started I'm waiting for a response I returned the first one it worked for a week this one never even started. I get that you get what you pay for but the company shouldn't sell items that are non usable. They should sell frames and parts if they can't make sure the whole bike runs.
Why do you say that? The chokes only real purpose is to help start the motor when it’s cold. I have worked on a few of these and they all seem to have fuel starvation issues. I wish they made these with fuel mixture screws instead of just the idle adjustment.
