Our Ruataahuna Tribal called a hui inviting Te Kaunihera kaumātua to Te Uru Taumatua in Tāneatua, to speak face to face about the open hostility and protest towards Te Uru Taumatua and its leadership. Once word spread of this hui, the Waikaremoana tribal decided to come to Te Uru Taumatua to join in on the discussion. The aim of the hui was to see if we could come together and unify our thoughts by using our own traditional Tūhoe practices and principles.
