I remember when this thing first came out at 6.3 and it was amazing back in the day, then they brought it to 7.0 before the T-44-100 was introduced and it was unplayable. Now that it's 6.3 again it's almost back to its former glory but power creep has been tough on it. That said, I think it is very underrated. You have to play it like a light tank and only on maps where you can handle the terrible gun depression but the 100mm cannon is one of the highest performing cannons (for its BR) in the game. You should be one-shotting everything if you know where to aim.
I bought this tank during the 10th anniversary sales and im really happy with it. Its fast and has a cracking gun, just be mindful of the horrid gun depression and slow reload
If you didn’t manage to pick up the object 248, this is the next best thing. Same amazing gun at the Br, and both have pretty mediocre armor so they play very similarly.
Its not OP tho, i suffered till i noticed it wasnt as great as promised and especially against german heavies you need to aim at spot on the turret in order to do anything... i mean.. which is normal but as a jagdpanther player i never really needed that precision
8:13 i was in this situation various times now I finally learned how to not fear T-34 with the R3 in a one vs one. First move out of the way while trying to shoot a track. Then take out the cannon. Finishing of by shooting the site near the tracks, or the turret ring of you are not aligned to the side. Anyway the R3 is fun when you finally have a grip on it. I still have to understand how to play american medium tanks (of Italy tech tree 🇮🇹 ) they are slow and with paper armor.
for american medium tanks you basically need skill. this is not a joke. shoot first, don't get seen or shot, flank, use your ears and your brain, and know where to shoot the enemy
US early medium tanks (M4s) rely pretty heavily on shooting first and doing meaningful damage with that shot. Stay on the move and angle at bit and use that stabilizer. The only Shermans that can somewhat rely on their armor are the ones that have track armor on the frontal hull, and that's not a sure thing from the long 75mm on the Panzer IV and up.
ill comment before watching the video i love this tank, 2.5kda in it and it is a beast at 6.3 (was even better before they nerfed the obj 248) its a boomstick tank that can kill frontaly 99% of the tanks it meats
I rarely played it at 6.7 and thought it was essentially awful. I gave it another shot when it went down to 6.3 and I really like it now. At the same time I was crushed that the T44 went to 6.7 simultaneously. I havent played the T44 since. I generally skip 6.7 with the Russians and go to 7.3 but I honestly don't play much of anything above 6.3 anyway.
When this thing was 6.7 it really wasn't that good the T 44 100 was one br jump away, has a better reload, speed and armour while also having a great Lineup but now that it's 6.3 its actually really good T 34 mobility with a Russian 100mm is a fantastic combination
Got my first nuke in the t-34-100 I am biased but id say its one of the best at 6.3 due to the mobility alone IS-6 is great but when the bombers come the mobility helps to avoid the trouble.
