Well actually I have two or three, is the flame out sensor a thermocouple? I don't think it is but.

Actually it seems as if you are, so for the sake of brevity I'll get right to it. I have a 38,000 btu propane heater, but when I push the button to give it gas. I get nothing

The flame detector is a thermocouple which operates a solenoid to hold the gas valve open as long as a flame is present. Pushing and holding the button overrides the detector and forces gas to flow in the absence of flame. So if you’re not getting gas while holding the button in, then you have a problem with the supply tank or the hose connection on the heater.
