Julia's English is really good here! I'm shocked! Especially since three years earlier from this she could barely speak it at all. Now she's great in this video!
thank you, thank you, thank you years of searching I have finally found the loch ness monster of t.A.T.u videos; Always saw clips of Lena in that mature shawl speaking intelligently and so happy I could see all the blurbs in context
These two beautiful women are as genuine, humble and authentic as can be! Love how they conquered this interview! So talented and beautiful in every way!!! xxx
Both are Lovely Ladies, it’s a shame that interviews like this try to belittle them and “put them on the spot” The girl spoke their minds and the truth and he didn’t like that it didn’t go his way. I love that about TATU; lovely and honest 😘
they never said the one thing I have always wanted to hear them say: "some of the songs were written FOR homosexuals, and sung from the perspective of a homosexual, so that is why we kissed during the song, singers can be actors playing a part" even to this day, with them 'back in the closet' it would be nice to see the closure this simple statement would have given to their whole career Do you really believe Elton John loves Marilyn Monroe?....would be same thing
This is the thing they were "given" the band by Shapovalov. But they were never given or at least understood the philosophy behind t.A.T.u. That's why they couldn't carry their success.
Lena talks about this elsewhere...how she talked to her priest, and how she only coped because she knew she was acting. But Ivan was stuck in producing vids that involved Julia shouting, and planning scandals. So they sacked him.
Immature interviewers believe if they bully it makes them look professional but it has the opposite effect. when they bully they will never in the future get any entertainer with any real substance.
Thank you for the video! I'm watching it for the first time=p Lena and Yulia look pretty as usual! I'm felt very happy to see Yulia communicating in English, she had certainly improved a lot..and i didn't know about the Swedish film,'Show Me Love' =0
Wtf is this? “How do you have gay friends at 15?” “Do you still feel yourself Russian?” I’ve been watching several interviews done by non Russian “interviewers” during this album cycle and most of them were disrespectful to the girls and the music.
It is a very good interview; thank you RT. The interview is serious; it is not so lightweight like standard conversation with a music or entertainment journalists, who mostly laugh and provoke laugh by audience. Yes, Al Gurnov is tough, he wants precise answer, he has information and asks again and again. I like t.A.T.u., I know much about them, and I know, that some of answers are not true. It is OK for me: they are entertainer, and they try to build a line between their past and present. It is pleasant to see, as Lena and Julia think and formulate the answers. It is interesting to compare with their answers from other interviews and understand, how their views are changed.
Yulia learned to speak English. In 2002 and 2003 (when they both participated in Eurovision) she could barely say a word in English, now her English is not perfect, but it has improved a lot.
They just don't like to be labelled, everyone in the world has to put someone in a certain category and it shouldn't be like that.If you love someone,no matter what gender they are, then thats okay and no one has the right to pick and dig that person just because they follow their heart and go with their feelings.
Lena is clearly so smart and special. They are true. They probably had suffered so much pressure form the whole world and this can damage a teenager life. They re great And Le a is fantastic. I love her
It really bugs me how they say that they had become famous because of kissing in a music video i dont agree with it, i never even seen the music video before i heard the song. These girls had amazing voices back and that is what made me listen to them then and it is a shame on what had happend to Julia but im glad she still sings even if her voice isnt the same.
Thanks for this video ! I've been looking for it since forever ! Hopefully someone would upload Their interview and performance with Jay Leno as well :/
she was mostly upset because Eurovision made the sound worse than the others so they wouldn't win, and they filmed them very far away cause they were afraid they were gonna kiss. They actually came first, but something made Ireland give them 0 points when they were gonn give them 12 points, so the first place was theirs anyway actually. but i dont know how to explain
"how come you got lots of friends from the gay community when you were just 15? where did you get them?" omg I cannot stand this interviewer. out of all the annoying things he said, that's pretty offensive. what an idiotic question. newsflash- gay teenagers exist. gay people exist. like lena said, everywhere.
aEquanimity I think he was trying to imply that Lena and Julia must be gay if they had gay friends when they were younger and that they'd seek them out coz they were gay.
12:00 erm the first single was called 'All the things she said' not 'I've lost my mind' and the second single was called 'Not gonna get us' not 'They're not gonna get us'
@tatulover01 oops, i've just looked up Al Gurnov (interviewer) and he is russian, so why is he pronouncing Yulias name as Julia instead of her russian pronounciation!! you'd think he would pronounce those names in their russian format!! if you get what i mean
where is the interviewer from? i'm guessing his accent is russian or polish or sumit!! I'm not sure. Yulias english is still shaky as always, she needs practice!!
I don't believe them. Just watch the Eurovision Song Contest 2003 and look their faces when they were about to win. They both really believed they'd be the winners, but unfortunately for them, Turkey won by only 3 points. In 2008 Russia won the contest.
Tatu was designed to shock. Conservative Russians hated the look the world was receiving from them. Teenagers loved them. Lena and Julia, bith conservative, were caughr in the middle. And Shapovalov kept most of the money they earned.
Oh I remember that... acting in a controversial and provocative manner. Lol.. wonder if the same journalist could take a look into the future and check out Cardi B or Nicki Minaj :D
I find the interviewer annoying. And I believe that they are not only good musicians, but also good people, but I don't htink that the press liked their more radical views. It seemed like the interviewer was critisising them for it.
Finally someone that gets the reasoning of this man. They were supposed to be hard and unconfortable questions. It is a given to have hard interviews when you are a controversial musical group. Everyone wants to know if they are for real. I love their music and everyone who worked on it. Talented people all of them but Lena and Yulia sadly were not the brains of this group.
@@anonymousguybehindthesky8893 I am aware of that, they were children when the "tatu project" started. Ivan Sapavalov took advantage of them but that's just how the music industry and any artistic industry for that matter works some time. They had the time of their lives as well so it's not like their talent was wated and they got nothing out of it. I just love their music for what it is.
They never faked a shit. They always said they weren't lesbians, they spent half their career denying it but people just liked to assume they were just because they kissed. As if kissing someone of your gender makes you gay lmao ignorant people.
