After watching couple of years english movies and people on youtube, my english has started sounding like yours, although problem arises when I am switching between Hindi and English during conversation. Also, I am talking to someone who is having retroflex, I don't know why, I switch back to retroflex.

So today It's Thursday but I'm gonna consider it as the luckiest day of 2018 for me cuz today i found something that's like 75% of missing learning stuff to polish my fluency skill and since I'm an Indian so It feels like I hit a jackpot today in terms of being more fluent & speaking English like you do & Now I've added this playlist to my RU-vid library and i'm gonna watch every single video everyday to make sure that I don't forget what I've learnt from your lessons. You're the best, Thanks a million. I wish you also get lucky today and everyday in your favourable situations like i got today and hope you have an amazing and wonderful day everyday ;) .

One of the best advice I got was: Speak with confidence regardless of accent. When you speak in a meek tone your accent automatically sounds "suppressed" or "retropharyngeal" like Ms. Rhodes calls it. Utilize your entire breath to say a word and you will automatically sound better. Again no accent is better, this is just a little advice that works well with this video.

This video is also helpful the other way around. Like many Americans, I have trouble understanding some Indian speakers of English. Now I have a better idea how I should be listening for sounds that I was not expecting to hear, especially when there is no opportunity to ask the speaker to slow down or to clarify, as in a lecture hall or on some important instructional video. For Indian speakers who find that Americans cannot understand their English well, here is one easy initial attempt at improving communication: Please Slow Down. That single effort will be welcomed by your frustrated listeners.
