T bolt Clamps ??

So, I don't like T bolt clamps. They are a little too wide and I'm not a fan of the huge threaded stud left behind after it's tightened down.
We'll still use them on request, but I'd like to sell a bunch of them off...Cheap..

hmmm well one way to counter this would be to get a slightly longer silicone coupler. I personally don't use these because of the unequal pressure points you get when you tighten them down. I use Breeze liner stainless steel clamps on my cars and they hold psi very well. The clamping force is uniform around the hose and the liner does not cut into the hose.

I swapped to using T bolt clamps for my coolant hoses and the intake. I have really liked them the last 3 years and the hoses aren't warmed to only fit the clamps a certain way. In your case worm gears are better as the silicone should probably be replaced once the gear wears them down. I use slightly larger couplers on my STi with T-bolt clamps and the turbo clap is LOVELY for that annoying to access clamp.

which (brand) clamps do you prefer to t bolt clamps?

I don't see a problem here. The straight coupler is used simply a pipe connection. If you want it to flex, then get a hump hose, that's what they're meant for. If you don't like that extra pipe overhang? Just grind the excess off, then now you get more slack between the two pipes. If you run high enough boost (45+ psi), you want t-bolt clamps + boost brace.

Possible fix could be longer silicone connector, that would allow proper clamping and visually correct. Obviously that's hypothetical and won't work in every application

Benjamin Almost all silicone connectors are 3” long.

When demonstrating connected two pipes together why are you using a small silicone pipe which will not do the job?

It’s a standard length connector we have the most of. I believe it’s 3” long.

I switched to the worm style Murray constant tension (turbosmart) clamps and haven’t looked back.

I personally would only use wiggins clamps on any high boost piping setup. Big money but you get a rock solid connection that you'll never have to worry about.

Something get into the engine and ruined the valve seat? yeah, that happened to me once. open pod somehow got a hole from debris and ingested something. Swore off open pod and back to oem airboxes

Forget aesthetics. As far as a clamp that actually continues to keep the silicone hose connected, without breaking or loosening over time, and the t-bolt clamp is the only clamp I’ve found to provide that. That’s why t-bolt clamps are used.

Jace’s Own World I built an intercooler piping kit for WRC running 80 psi of boost. We tested it with our air compressor to 120psi and used our worm clamps . 😎

T bolt clamps, usually the ones near the turbo, stretch over time due to the heat cycles.

Pingman Standard size is 3”. This is the most used type.

Roosevelt Chua Standard connectors are 3” long.
