T-maxx classic won't go forward, repair

Thank you!! i've been looking for a way to fix this without having to switch to forward only and i couldn't find any other fixes, but this worked!

Ive had my Tmaxx classic since 2002 and this is the same transmission as mine with the old style gear set.

Thanks! I couldn’t figure this out and this helped a ton. Q; what gear oil do you use when you put it back together? Do you fill the whole case up, or just get the gears wet?

so if I remove that metal piece from the gear will I have forward only?

Does anyone have a step by step guide or video on how to take transmission off of truck?

I have Tmaxx classic the wheels will only roll in oposite direction. like when i push the truck forward the back wheels want to tun back ward and vise versa. like something is locked up . any help ?

I have a problem that ill be driving around, then come to a complete stop try to go into reverse and it wont work, sometimes it will but its not reliable, i hope this helps, thank you

thank you. I think mine got stuck, over revved and when it finally engaged it broke a tooth off. so I found the new gear #4997 on eBay. going to clean it all up and lube it and see if it runs like new!!

Thanks for trying to help but this method unfortunately does not permanently solve the issue sorry. You have to get your idle tuned down as low as possible so the RPM's will not cause the Pawls to fling out and engage unless you give it throttle. This is to stop it from lurching and getting stuck in Reverse. I also do not want to do the FOC because I dont want to chase the thing down if it gets stuck against something and no reverse to backup and turn around. Make T-Maxx Great Again. MTGA!
