Runs aren't really what makes a great singer. It's his tonal quality, the strength he can sustain throughout the whole song and that he can Change the notes on the fly shows he really knows music theory. He knows how to lay the notes he improvises on the fly accurately. That's! Impressive. Anyone can do a "run"
He hasn’t deprived anyone dude. T-pain changed the sound of pop music in general and has been doing so since ‘05 . People don’t give him the credit he deserves for being such an influential figure in music.
People, including myself, used to think this guy couldn't sing, and he was accused of cheating the industry, even by Jay-Z. But he didn't bother proving anything back then. Fast forward 20 years, and he hits us with this amazing performance. Now, older and wiser, I get a bit teary-eyed, realizing I misjudged him. Props to T-Pain for just doing his thing, staying strong, and never feeling the need to prove everyone wrong all those years. I'll forever be a fan and lesson learned
@@sheilaanna And that stylistic choice to overuse auto tune gave us an entire generation of folks who SUCK at singing thinking that auto tune will just fix it. It was a mistake to have ever used auto tune to the extent that he did Thank the good lord that we have performances like this to start healing the timeline. We desperately need better musicians and performers, we've had a solid few decades without much musical talent in the mainstream.
This is the real T Pain you're listening to here. This is the type of music he's always wanted to make but had to navigate the industry to get to make his real music.
No offence but that's just not true. T-Pain created & loved his autotune sound and that's the way he came up. T-Pain singing with autotune is also 'the real T-Pain' lol
This is the truth. The reality is, his autotune is very difficult to do, he talks about it, it’s not just singing and auto tune, you have to sing “incorrectly” in a way to get his unique sound. He made a unique sound that is instantly recognizable, and created some of the greatest hits in hiphop and RnB, and is considered one the greatest hook writers of all time. This singing is beautiful but in many ways, not nearly as impressive as his “regular” sound
If there are any Ozzy fans out there, he crushed War Pigs too during this performance. Not just T Pain, but his entire band is extremely talented and versatile.
Came here from listening to the War Pigs cover, having just found out about the Ozzman’s own recommendation of it. What a helluva performance! Him and the backing band were all on fire.
This man endured years of ridicule from certain sides for using autotune on everything because he "couldn't sing" and now we find out he did it on purpose just to mess with us lol. I love it!! LEGEND!!!
@@grienardus12yeah, it’s practically common knowledge, but, in your defense, we do need ALOT more live performances from T-Pain w/o autotune. He’s rockin his shit with this. Straight 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
He did it for the bag and he made it poppin dont lie like you wasnt feelin him when he hit the scene. Kinda fuked up how all the dik suking rappers made it cool to hate on him and the whole mumble rap/autotune its not hippop. Its a trend its gonna pass n recycle
He did it because he become fillthy rich, not because he wanted to mess with anyboby If he came up singing soul music like this, even though its way better for my taste, you wouldnt even know who he is right now
I love how he hit us with the auto tune and gave us bops back in the day now he’s gracing us with his vocals that’s smart if you ask me. Shows he’s full of surprises
This is the un-pressured, and industry free T-Pain. Thank God for the Masked Singer which allowed the world to hear HIM and encouraged him to go back to his first love.
Ooooooooh myyyyyy go-oooooooood!!!!! T-pain! Your natural voice is a million times better than auto tune!!!!! And wish I would have the pleasure to meet you! My brother had a meeting on radio and you also helped him with one of your and Chris browns songs! I am a huuuuuuuge fan! T-Pain!!!!!!
His voice is just so amazing. I didn’t expect to fall in love with this version but I absolutely loved every second of this. This I would buy in a heartbeat….
you'd be surprised how many rappers actually have an immense passion for singing like this. radio manufactured music is what the industry wants, so that's what they give us. most artists aren't ever able to break free. im glad he was able to
It's almost as if T Pain decided that singing for real was too easy to find success so he purposely started his career off using auto tunes to make the game more difficult for himself.
I first saw this a few days ago. I felt hypnotized! As i child my mom was a huge teddy pendergrass fanatic! Even at that young age his performances gave me goosebumps. That’s how I feel right now! Even in Harold Melvin and the blue notes he sang lead so often that There was no way to deny his talent. It seemed to come so effortlessly and he put every ounce of his soul into his music. Tpain is now my teddy!! I can’t stop watching this! Music has moved me to tears sometimes. Idk how or why. My mom took us to the opera when I was young. I teared up but I had no idea why? I hid it and was too embarrassed to mention it, A couple years later we went on a class trip to see Peter and the Wolf. The orchestration blew my mind. I began flute lessons immediately. I played for years, practiced religiously. I was honored with first chair the entire time I played. Idk why I moved away from music. It brought me the greatest joy, always. I’ve been in a slumber musically for quite some time. Great music really brightens any day. Jazmine Sullivan and sza have great natural and pure voices. I enjoy them. Music just isn’t the same. I’m 52 so there are so many incredibly popular songs and artists that I just don’t get. My true inspiration came from bugs bunny and old cartoons when I was really young. I always felt soothed by the music composition. I didn’t even know what an orchestra was. I loved the way it made me feel. This is the first time, in a long time, that I’ve been blown away and awestruck. His range, runs and all of his very soul flows so purely, genuinely…it is second nature to him. It’s so weird finding out this late in the game but better late than never. I am just delighted to have been introduced to his pure talent. Sorry to run on and on but you must know that you’re not alone. I can’t count how many times a day I’ve listened to this and now I’m going to binge watch the masked singer he was in right now. 😉 I’m hooked and it feels GOOD!
This man can sing the hell out of any song. I've heard so much of his stuff that is just plain and pure. God/Godess give this man the voice of a golden angel.
This has me in tears... reminds me of sitting on the side of my second homeless shelter and I would have my Bluetooth speaker and just sung this song while Chris Stapleton sung it...BUT TPAIN TOOK IT TO ANOTHER LEVEL... EMOTIONS RUNNING DEEP 🥺👑❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🥰💕🎼🎵🎶🔊🗣️
It’s unfortunate how he had success covering his voice and is only now being discovered by many as a true singer. Hopefully he reaches the same level of success with such authentic performances.
I don’t think he was hiding his voice back then but rather bringing something different to the music industry. He wasn’t the first to introduce autotune but he was definitely the best by making it unique.
For those who somehow don’t know, this is originally a country song. Need more people to be like myself and T-pain here, appreciating all different types of music. It’s not about skin color, culture, anything, good music is just good music. This is T’s clear soulful take on it, but he would never have gotten here without enjoying some country first. Food for thought.
@@JohnPedder if you’re gonna quote, at least quote right, “like myself and T-pain.” And, it’s a simple comparison, encouraging more people to step outside of their fear of different music types, especially country. You sound offended over that 😂 you must’ve felt attacked. Don’t be afraid of a cowboy little man!
I have watched this no less than 20 times. His voice is incredible. And the controllll. He looks effortless. And I love the arrangement he and his band have done. So good. On every level.
