This song shall always hold a special place in my heart. I heard it on the radio in the car during a grocery and bill paying trip, just hours after a girl who I had been trying to reach out to for several years finally remembered me and messaged me on Facebook. I could not believe it at first, when it sank in I began to cry. She made such a good impact on me. On the last day of Senior year in 2012, she grabbed me and gently whispered " You're Amazing" into my left ear. I cannot recall that moment without tearing up, and feeling a Ultra Ego level of power come over me, inch by inch. Thanks girl, for making me into the caring and persevering man I am to this day. ❤️

I know the two of us will certainly never be lovers (we are too different to be romantically involved) but I shall forever look upon our 4+ years of interaction with the utmost positivity. Best lyric video of this song, thank you! Also, I remember when this song was new. I liked it. I was young, and didn't really know what makes a song good or great. I heard it, I liked it, but that was all. I'm much older now, and understand music and music production. I can honestly say now that this is one of the best and most important songs in the general Pop genre. The style of dueling lines is difficult to create and has only been done on a few occasions. These lyrics are very deep and are remarkably more poetic than most other love songs, as it has so many phrases that don't appear in other songs or any other media. And the instrumentation is a worthy representation of the time. This combination is what makes this, in my educated opinion, one of, if not the, best Pop songs of all time.

I'll firmly agree that this is definitely a slept on classic in the pop genre, so much influence from it; even if subconscious/indirect. I'll say I had the entire message of this song portrayed wrong, these lyrics hit a hella different way when it speaks to you
my brain is a strange jukebox, I woke up with this song vaguely in my mind, a faded image of the singer from a frame in the original video, and the words "Heart and Soul", wasn't even sure if it was a real song, haven't heard it in 35 years
I think its true, that in the end, love will never compromise. When I listen to this song, two images flash in my head. The first is me dancing slowly with a beautiful woman in my arms and the second, is a beautiful woman dancing to this song for me erotically. Neither has happened.....yet...
