i love electric coaxial 4ch and 6ch helis and learned on a shuttle ts still have fond memories of that old bird. moved onto moved on to quadcopters, i cannot fly 3d for the life in me. But there is somthing about the sound of a jet spooling up and flying that is just too sweet for words. sod all the nitro and brushless fanboys (me been the later) its just fing awsome.
In the evolutionary process of developing and video shooting these awesome machines - their will come a time in history...when people will realize and learn to put a cotton wool bud over their microphone.
@MrJordanflys Couldn't agree more, but then it does weigh almost 7kg! It's also the fact that turbines shouldn't fly 3D that makes me smile so much when I do fly this one :D
Nothing in the past 4 years or so of flying this and the synergy turbines this way :) just normal servicing intervals, no extra wear or damage... Very impressive bit of engineering from Wren :)
"what a hell" how you can fly man!!! I flew some small electric heli's, and manage the basic. I also got an jet engine, but are scared to put it into a rc plane. What you do here are something wild!! One question then: The most experience rc pilot I've seen, "never" fly a "scale model" heli. Why's that? I would love to see a huges 500 do the same show!
do the electrics have a faster response time, electric motors operate at about 80-90 percent efficiency, how efficient are these turbines.A gas engine, gasoline is about 40 percent,I think?
Electric is more powerful, faster response, quieter, and cheaper, but turbine sounds far better and much more unique. Nothing beats the smell of Jet A1!
