I have the Binson Echorec on my desk , sounds great , for my pedal board i use the Dawner prince Boonar and this comes really close to the usable Binson sound especially in a band setting , i have also the Trex tape delay , sounds a bit artificial and I don’t use it anymore , recently I preordered the Dawner Prince Boonar Deluxe with a real tube analog circuit and packed with modern digital control features , 1200$ is not exactly cheap but considering the Boonar i have its worth it
I have their tape delay, it's an absolute beautiful sounding pedal. This sounds just as great. I got the tape delay for half off because Guitar Center posted it a massive discount and my Sweetwater rep hooked me up at their cost. I'll end up getting this eventually too for my rack effects.
Sounds nice, but for my taste treble sounds too thin and too scratchy. (Or the amp is adjusted wrong or the guitar has ceramic pickups.) The Gurus Echosex 2 T7E sounds much more naturally and organically to me - and is much cheaper too. But I anyway prefer an Echoplex, and for this sound a Dunlop EP103 does a really good job at a fraction of the price for this unit. Nevertheless a nice reissue for people, who look for something like that.
