Wish i could go back to the 70s,so great back then when i felt freedom and love from friends. I got married at 16 and had my baby boy whos 51 now so i didnt have that wonderful hippy freedom for long.❤
Fantastic song from a fantastic band my favourite T.Rex single closely followed by Get it on great days in 1971 went to see T.Rextasy acouple of weeks ago played both these songs 👍
A superb song that got to No.1 in The UK back in March 1971. My sister prematurely died on 2 September 2022 and this song was at No.1 in The UK on the day she was born (25 March 1971).
I remember meeting Mickey Finn before he died and Bill legend, they told me that the lala part was only meant to be about a minute long but Marc Bolan forgot the rest of the lyrics, he wrote so he just continued with lalas, it sure works out well and makes this song legendary just like the writer. RIP to the icons.
Sitting here in fits of laughter with my wife Ken.I literally just said to her that I didn’t realise there was so many Lalas in the song and then we read your comment and that explains it.😂😂😂👍🏻
Thirty years ago, I was tucked up in bed, one late Saturday night. I heard a gaggle of young ladies coming home from the pub, They were singing this, in what seemed to be in perfect pitch and harmony in the still night air, as they passed by my bedroom window,. A beautiful rendition. Everytime, I hear this, I think of them.
Felt like catching up on some tunes I havent' heard in a long time, actually not since my Dad died nearly 8 years ago. A lot of memories are woven into Marc's music. On another note, who thinks Sigourney Weaver should totally star as Marc in a Biopic, she's the spit of him lol.
Sorry, did I insult you? No I didn't...not yet anyway. I posted the reply to Thomas a month ago, he didn't reply so I guess he accepted it. So...you may wind your neck in now.
You’ll probably say "Nah” that answer is too long. But I was a roadie for Marc for three & a half years; I tuned his guitars night after night. I was also at the stage side at every gig, rehearsals & recording sessions and I can tell you that Marc often slightly changed his lyrics on most songs when performing live! Anyway, back to your question, in that part of “Hot Love” he mostly sang “Take it out on me Ma Ma”. Sometimes “Check it out on me Ma Ma”. I hope this helps. KALMIYH….
You always get one don’t ya! What on earth is wrong will adding lala to a song, especially if it’s going to encourage people to sing along to it? By the way Marc wasn’t the only artists to add a few lalas. Remember a group called “The Beatles”. “Hey Jude” and how about “The Kinks” with “Lola” I wish that I could write songs like these, I would be singing lalala all the way to the bank!
