Thank you, thank you thank you!! Best tshirt ruler video that I have seen, in my opinion! Absolutely love your videos and projects! I have made several and will be making this one today after a quick trip to Dollar Tree
@@grandmacricut6405 I would make the heavyweight cardstock one normally on the cricut with pens, then run it through the laminator and trim the edges flush with scissors or xacto knife. By the way, I noticed your screen name. I named my old original cartridge machine Grandma Cricut and applied the name to the front of the machine and added a Cricut Character with readers.
I have to say that if it wasn't for you and your video's I would never have done as much as I have with my cricut. I was fortunate to find you when I first got my cricut and I have learned so much. Thank you Jennifer for all your instruction. Mary 💙
Thank you again for your generosity in sharing your expertise, files, and time and resources with all of us. You’ve helped this cricut newbie from last February to become a confident beginner 💕.
I didn’t have the acetate on my explore 2, I only had the FOIL ACETATE, so I had previously left a comment abt what I needed to do, but I waited 2days (almost exactly) and never got a response from anyone. So, for those of u who have had my same problem with the materials not matching up… I did find a cutting mat protector setting… I went in and adjusted my pressure cut (idk what it’s called) to 300 and set it at 2x (I really Dnt know much abt my machine but we learn as we go🤷🏽♀️🤣) ALSO I set the pressure from default to more and this worked PERFECTLY!! I wasn’t sure if it wrkd at first bt I applied a little more pressure when I went to ck that it went thru and it popped thru at the corner so I didn’t hVe to guess any more!!! I figured it out!😁🤷🏽♀️🤣❤️ I used the 2pk cutting mats from the Dollar Tree and I didn’t feel a diff in either side lol. So I jst n put it on the mat and got to work lol Also on a side not: when I say I adjusted to pressure cut to 300… when u go into browse materials and u see settings (I believe is what the word is) click that and u can go in and adjust ur machine… Jennifer has a video (prob more than one lol) on her page explaining it for those of you who don’t know what I’m talking abt. I’m still new and learning, but Jennifer has helped me learn sooo many things! I’m thankful I found her and thankful that she’s kind enough to share her videos and teach us all kinds of neat things! So, Ms.Jennifer, THANK YOU! I appreciate you so much!💯❤️ @jennifermaker
Waooo, you really think about your subscribers! It's just what I needed to buy but I never thought I could make my own. I thank you very much for giving us so many tools that help us improve our projects.
Ha! I just bought some on Prime day in July, but I haven't had a chance to use them yet. So glad you made this video because I had no idea how to use them. Thank you. You really are a great teacher!😊
Jennifer, thank you so much for this freebie.💚 Will be making shirts for our family reunion, was looking to purchase some of these. Now thanks to you a trip to $$tree is all needed.
Thank you for all your great videos, without them I would be lost and probably putting this machine back in the basement. I tried printing these out on the Dollar Tree cutting mats and must be doing something wrong. The lines on the bottom cut all the way out on the adult crew and on the infant it didn't score at all but cut every line out making it hard to use since the corners are completely gone now. Any suggestions on what I can do?
Awesome video & instruction. Thank you! One question, maybe I missed it, but how many adult guides can you fit on each plastic cutting mat from Dollar Tree? Can you get more than one per mat? Just curious how many I need to buy to make the adult versions. Thanks!
I have acetate sheets which I bought to experiment with your floating ornaments and wonder since the maker setting is acetate how much different is an acetate sheet from the chopping sheet? Thinner? Thicker? More transparent? and can I try acetate sheets instead of chopping sheet, Thanks You're the Greatest!
This is SUCH amazing timing, I really needed one of these TODAY cause I need to finish making a custom onesie for my cousins new baby before I leave to visit them tomorrow morning. I messed up on my first try- the baby's name is Arrow, so I picked a cute little arrow design with hearts, but didn't notice til after I had ironed on the HTV that it wasn't centered. This morning I bought another onesie to try again. I happened to be scrolling through RU-vid just now and the algorithm somehow showed me this video at exactly the perfect time. Thank you Jennifer! 💘
Thank you Jennifer so much for the time you took to prepare this and willing to share your hard work for us for this well needed tool and for free you are awesome.
If you attach the two layers won't it cut both the same number of times? So if I do one pass through it will engrave the whole thing and if I do a second pass through it will cut the whole thing including the words?
How about side decals? I need to make some t shirts for a friend and she wants the person's name and company logo on one side of the front of the shirt. Thank you for the guides! They will come in handy!
Jennifer, I am 72 years old and a little slow with the computer and other technology so please be patient with me. I am determined to learn as much as I can. I bought a new lap top and I am trying to learn also how to work the software on this computer while learning to work with my new cricut machine. Thank you so very much for your help and may God continue to bless you for helping so many people.
I had purchased some as well, wasn’t 100% Sure I was doing it correctly.. Wondering if you gave ideas for pocket placement or names on front?!? I would love something to help me get it correct;) Thanks Jennifer and team for all you do!!!
I used 3 sheets of 12 x 12 Craft Plastic from "Grafix", using my Cricut Maker. Used the Transparency setting, more pressure. I mirrored the image and etched with cutting tool 41 and cut with my Black Cricut cutting Blade. I had to run the cut twice and got amazing results.
Hi Jennifer, thank you so much for doing this for us! I just printed one of the guides and am about to make mother/daughter shirts. The few shirts I've made so far are just enough off to distract me, I'm thrilled to have a guide. :)
Hello Jennifer. Thank your for sharing. I personally like the designs to be a little higher than where you place them. Especially if it’s a bigger design. I have looked at other shirts with pre-printed designs and they are also higher or closer to the neck line
Thank you for this video. While making wedding party shirts for my sister I accidently touched one of my plastic ones with my heat press. Now I can make another set for less than what I paid to order them.
Thank you! This is great and your instructions are awesome as usual! I would like to know what settings you did to get it to engrave on the plastic mats. Just in case I want to do that again for something else. I will be making these very soon!
Thanks, Jennifer. I was wondering how the outside cuts twice in the plastic version? And if it hasn’t cut and you need an extra pass, won’t that cut all the way through the rest of the design?
@@JenniferMaker I needed a second pass. My explore 2 doesn't have an acetate setting, only foil acetate. No where near cutting through on the first or second cut.
at 10:46 on this video you show the recommended sizes for the actual design. I have searched your website & I can't seem to find this. I am about to make my first shirt & am very nervous. I did print the placement rulers, but I would like to know the appropriate size for the design depending on the size of the shirt. Thank you so much!
Jennifer, You are awesome! Thank you very much for using your talents to help others. I have a question: I live here in US and I need to decorate some t-shirts for the ladies in my church attending a Women's Retreat. Where can I find good t-shirts for me to decorate with vinyl? I went to a retail store we have in my town but the t-shirts are not good for ladies (they are too long). Can you help me? Thanks!
I do like the Bella brand. You can find that at local craft stores or online. There is an affiliate link to Bella in this tutorial. jennifermaker.com/how-to-layer-vinyl-on-a-shirt/
Thank you for this. I was able to find the ruler guide svgs, but can't locate the guide that shows you placement on different size shirts as described at 10:51. Are they still on your website? Thanks again!
Hi Jennifer I love your video I am definitely going to make my t-shirts guides.again ty. I do have a question though about my design sizes. I'm a bit confused on the sizing. So let's say I have a design that I need to be 11×13 or 11×17 but the design I have is much smaller how do I go about to get the image to print out the size I need in design space as most of my designs are sublimation designs that r the bigger designs and I do alot of cotton material so I do use easy subli or htv or dtv. I have the circuit 3 explorer and the circuit joy
The maximum image size for Print Then Cut is 9.25" x 6.75" and The default material size is 8.5" x 11" for Design Space. This cannot be changed at this time.
Love your videos. Tried to cut the ruler on the Dollar Tree cutting mat but I realized I didn't have the acetate on my Explorer 2, what material setting can I use?
Try foil acetate. Do a test cut first. help.cricut.com/hc/en-us/articles/360009504773-Which-materials-can-I-cut-with-my-Cricut-Explore-and-Cricut-Maker-machine-#explore-air-2
I am trying to make the t-shirt ruler using the chopping mat, on my cricut explaote air 2. But I only have foil acetate as a material option. Not just acetate. So can I use that?
I tried the cutting board one and did exactly as you instructed but it did 4 passes on the outline and 2 on the lettering. It cut through the whole thing. What did I do wrong? Can I fix it to make them again?
Love your tutorials, and I am so glad you did this one. I wonder if you have any advice on how to place a small design on the side of a t shirt above the breast please and thank you.
If you are using matte choose that but do a test cut first to see what works best with your machine and the material that you have. help.cricut.com/hc/en-us/articles/360009504773-Which-materials-can-I-cut-with-my-Cricut-smart-cutting-machine#explore-machines
This video was great! I am new to the cricut world so your videos are a huge help! I do have one question, what is the best way to figure out placement for the left chest (over the heart)?
That is a good question. Please suggest that to be added here. jennifermaker.com/projectrequests/ It should go above the chest. Maybe find a shirt that you have that has a placement like that or even a pocket shirt.
Hello thank you very much for the T shirt rulers and video guide - do you have or know of any tutorials on how to use the T-shirt guide rulers for when there is a logo type design on one side around the breast/chest area? How far from the side seam should the logo be placed and how far down from the shoulder seam is ideal? thank you
I do not but that is a good idea to have one. It would go in the place where a pocket would typically be on the shirt. jennifermaker.com/projectrequests/
