i saw her in Cayman Brac island for lightening in february 1979 .very wide, very impressive!

I love this supertanker, so many memories:)

She was an incredible feat of engineering--by far the widest ship ever built. I never saw her, but I've heard descriptions from those who did, and they said she was as impressive as any ship, including the Seawise Giant/Jahre Viking.

It was built that wide because the archipelago on the way to open sea made it nearly impossible to increase length and depth/heigth any more...

Considering her extreme width, was she originally planned to be much longer?

Very impressive ship. I thought it was run by Munkedal AB after the original owner went belly up..?
