A truly excellent job. I've been thinking about installing these on my F850GS but was worried about the complexity of the install. No more. Somebody owes you a commission when I place my order.

Thank you for your patient and clear video. I'm based in the UK and have been thinking about one of these for a while. This clear video tells me that the installation is a simple job. Thank you again for making my mind up. Stay safe in these difficult times. BTW love the red frame.

Thanks for this... I had the Hyper-Lites on my 89 Transalp. Had them on there for over 12 years before I had to change out the way they attach with some new VHB tape. Great lights!

Very well done. Really like visiting Asheville when we visit your area for rides. (From Toronto). Will be helping a friend install his hyper lites soon. Already installed his Hex Ez Can and driving lights on his 2918 R1200R

Very well done! You took a lot of the mystery out of the process for me. Just curious, most installs I see, such as yours, have the hyperlights at the “bottom” of the license plate. Is this for a reason? Can they be positioned at the “top”? I’m just struggling with personal aesthetics. Thanks for a great video.

Hi Brad, Thanks for the comment. Yes, there's room to position the lights above the license plate. You may have to make a mounting bracket or reverse a bracket for bottom mounting. I went with a side mount for visual impact. many lights do mount under the license plate on a horizontal plane with the OEM tail/brake light. I just think a vertical direction stands out a bit more like this. Either way, having a flashing brake light really helps to get the attention of cars behind (I hope). Thanks for watching! -Tim

Hello Tim, the connector between the ezcan and the hyper lite, which one is it? I bought the denali cansmart (same thing) but the package comes with a harness instead. I have the 1250 GSA, and bought the hyper-lites, I just need the connector, Thank you.

Hi tIm, this time I have a question about your BMW panniers. They seem to be gray color? Is that a factory color? Mine are silver, but would like to change colors to yours or black as my GSA is black.
@Tim2Wheels
@Tim2Wheels 4 года назад
Ho Jose, They were the bright aluminum originally. I used a "Gun Metal Grey" vinyl wrap. I love the color and it matches some of the BMW fairing trim perfectly. The wrap protects the boxes from corrosion and scratches. I also lined the inside with a thin indoor/outdoor carpet to keep thing from rattling around and rubbing the aluminium. I need to do a video on that. Thanks for the comment and for watching.

That’s a heck of a job, Tim. Very talented I must say. Yes, indeed. A video about that would help and guide many of us. Thanks for your videos.

Hi, Tim. I love your videos! Can I install the Hyper Lights without the Hex ezCan?
@Tim2Wheels
@Tim2Wheels 5 лет назад
Hi Ciro, Yes the Hyper-Lites are designed to be installed alone, without the HEX EasyCAN. they have a module that will give you a lot of the same features (flashing, etc.). Thanks for the question and for watching.

Hey Jack, I'm sorry for the delay in responding - The bracket was also from Hyper-Lite. Here's a link: hyperlites.com/?product=license-plate-bracket

Excellent video. Easily explained process. What hyper-lites did you use? There are 3 different options for the u-32 kit. Want to know which you ordered please , the standard, modulating,non-flashing or california. I am thinking the standard since they are controlled by the hex can. Correct

I had this same question and see that T2W's answer isn't as specific as we would like. I've since learned through research that the universal will do fine - remember, you are cutting off the hyper-lite controller and using EZ-CAN, so the light will respond the way you wish using the software.

Hi Jesse, I'm currently leaning towards the Baja Designs Squadron Pro combo light. I have also considered the Denali D4 v2, and a few from Clearwater. Thanks for the comment and for watching.

Your approach certainly works, but if you want a neater and stronger splice that has less of a “bump” under the heat shrink, consider this for your future connections. It is time tested and NASA approved. 🙂 It is a little tougher to do with stranded conductors and 2 into 1 splices, but will still work with a little effort. en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Western_Union_splice
