Hey, I have 1 of these Cher Mego dolls and you should put her hair in the fabric softener for like 7 days and make a boil wash after, her hair will look like before. I always do this with my vintage dolls and it always work very well
You’ve got to be super careful with Mego dolls as their hair doesn’t react to a boil wash and can melt. Being a Barbie fan I always subscribe to the boil wash but I ruined a Farrah doll doing a boil wash as the hair melted immediately.

You have the OK Toys Cher. When Mego went out of business, they sold off their remaining Cher heads and OK Toys bought them. OK Toys put the heads on a cheaper doll body and relased it as a new Cher doll, therefore, other than the head, this is not the traditional Mego Cher doll. This is why she is lighter than the Farrah doll and has flat feet.
The lightweight body doll was issued in a cheaper box called gypsy box small carded box or if it was not in this it would have been in a mego bag type wrapper with a header on it saying cher , the body is not as good but it has not got the melting issues
yes i have the same issue i still buy them dolls but what i do is wrap the body where the mets are its the rubber reacting with the plastic i cover with food wrap ( that stops the clothes from sticking to the doll)
@@BlytheWorld1972 Can you also use aluminum or tin foil instead of food wrap or baking paper to place in between the doll's body and her outfit to act as a barrier from the melting to protect her outfit or clothes from getting melt mark stains even worse. Because mine has one small melt stain on her front upper thigh right side area and a larger stain on her right hip area near her butt. There is not much you can do to remove the melt stains that are already there but I would just like to prevent more from appearing on her white jumpsuit outfit. Her left side hip area is fine with no stains yet but her arms do have a tiny amount of melting at her shoulders which is very common with these Mego dolls.
Fab video. Quite a number of the Cher fashions were not pictured in the booklets. There are well over 50, including Mother Goose, Frosted Feathers, Stormy Weather, and Dramatic Drizzle. I don't think Chocolate Mocha was produced, but I have the style done in both pink and green. Madame Chan was also sold with a green or blue tunic, and the embroidery varies.
Don't know if it is still going but there was a Cher doll yahoo group with loads of photo. A lot of the rare outfits came in black boxes. Some are ultra rare like the cowgirl chaps costume she wore on a show, and a nightwear set. The Sandra Bryan Cher And her celebrity friends book includes a lot of fashions not in the booklet, and also covers the other dolls like Diana Ross and Farrah.
Mego also made Suzanne Somers. Sonny and Cher were divorced by the time the Sonny doll was made. At the time, it’s said Elton John was supposed to made as the male counter part for the Cher doll but that didn’t test well with kids at the time.

She did :) great times the 70s and early 80s more innocent times kids could play for hours with stuff like this now its all computers and stuff we had it made back then i was a late 70s and 80s kid myself :)

My friend Angel had this set and a few fashions. I think she had Sonny, too. I have Cher's original pink dress that she came in, (it was on another toy at the flea market).
