Thanks for another nice test. Those are interesting aluminum balls. My pet peeve is that everybody sells stuff at 0.68X caliber. Very few sellers ever tell us the X digit and that's the most important. If you have a caliper give them a measure and let us know. For example, 0.689 is too big for most barrels and 0.683 is too small for most barrels.
Thank you for the tip about loading. I thought it was a defect. Then again, it's not that easy to flick it up, while holding the lever at the end. I figured it out. I have to flip it up before I push it to the end. DOH!!
I do not actually own one but from what i have seen on RU-vid and the groups the Hdb is picky about the actual ammo size. Rune has had similar issues among others. It behaves much like the Hdp50 with steel balls. Try pulling back on the follower slightly to see if it allows the trigger to function. The ones the radar is not reading are under 100 which will also show 00 much like if it was over 400. I would definitely pick up some inerts to see if they will cycle or just chop.
Yeah, saw some of Rune's vids with the same issue. I may have to stick with T4E brand balls on this one. Maybe a mod as well. Its never perfect, lol. Test, test, test💥💥💥
I figured this issue out; The hang-up with the trigger being hard to pull (or impossible), is where the loading gate rolls over the next ball in the magazine - It needs a taper at the bottom of the forward loading gate, where it contacts the next ball in the magazine. Valken had the same issue with the old Milsig M17 bolt feeding balls from the magazine... untill they tapered the bolt with a bevel. It needs a tapered slant where it meets the next ball being fed up from the magazine. A slight tapered filing/polishing upwards at that forward point of contact will fix the issue. 👍
@@thellc24-7 Crocus cloth on the follower (while holding upwards pressure on follower), and pulling the trigger many, many times. lol I didn't disassemble anything other than the poly shell halves.
@@erica-nk3uh unfortunately, no I don't. My testing has been slow, as I broke a finger on a ladder shortly afterwards. To do it correctly would require a complete disassembly... which I won't be capable of for a few more weeks. I'm sorry...
@@thellc24-7 Rune Rebel is king pimp schtt big dogg el presidenté Living Legend of the less lethal airgun community !!!. those are hashtag fax !! 😆 lol im being funny of course, but ITS TRUE !!. 😳 🌞😇 shot out to Rune, you got me started on this _airventure_
Q-Ray in the house! Wonderful device! It worked for me! Great video! 7.1 gram ✔️ The Aluminum round feeds better and likes the tighter barrel in the HDB. It's not an .686 it's smaller. Not sure what exactly but it's doesn't like Grimberg Jul. Throw some silicone spray for air soft in every orifice. Including the mag. That will only help! It's a good marker for what it cost. Cheers!
How do these rounds work in your other .68 launchers? That's not a good design if the trigger malfunctions when using one hand. You say the problem is you, but whether you're using one hand or two, the trigger should fire either way. I look forward to seeing those rounds tested in other launchers.
the insides are just like the pistol. it wants undersized balls. it's just the way those three are. hdp, hdp compact & hdb. Once you remove the block, the same way you did the pistol, you will be happy w/ it shooting the balls that work w/ it (i haven't done it to mine yet either, Jeff Mackay, Rune Rebel have the vids). i'm thinking mcs rounds (4.6g), and the old type rubber steel (not "s-type")(6.7g) & in my own opinion; metalic balls are over-rated and could make you look bad in court.
Why are you guys trying to make Less lethal launchers lethal? These guns are used to “deter” not to kill. With all of the amo there is for stopping an attacker, why do you try to go beyond that? Makes no sense
I liked the hdb very much, especially for its design, until thé seller told me a lot of people brought them back because thé loading bullet system ..same for thé gun version with the same system was crapoy and not reliable...
@@thellc24-7 to be précise, it seems that it s the system pushing or inserting the ammo into the chamber that is not reliable, sometimes you have to push them manually...that sucks
Left unmodded this baby seems to only be useful for hurling pepper or paint. As badass as it looks it appears to be lil to quirky to be relied upon in a defensive situation. Full confidence you'll iron out the wrinkles bruh ✌️💛✊
It's not very strong with the heavier rounds. Very capable with 3 gram projectiles and should do fine with pepper. Needs more power for the heavier stuff.💥💥💥
It's easy. You just need to find a barrel like thus one in tact. It will come with a lid. I found mine on Facebook foe $25. Cut a hole in front and 2 notches on top for the bar to go across. Hang your sheet, resecure the lid and you're set!💥💥💥
U need the 40j pump gun from umarex if u fire that heavy rounds if u want damage, but don’t use pepper in those they explode sometimes. So this is the right thing for pepper. But not for impact.
