In 1971 when I was 10, we were up at our cabin in Lake Arrowhead, CA. We were at a little beach area in the village and Sally Field walked right by my friend and I. I had no idea what her name was so I yelled out “Sister Bertrille!!” She was so sweet and turned around a waved to us. We were soooo excited to see the “Flying Nun!” 😊
"THEY" want ewes fighting ewes. Reds vs Blues, us vs us. 50/50 = 1. Hegelian Dialectic: Thesis vs Antithesis = Synthesis. That being said, Sally Fields was so young and adorable -- no wonder America fell in love with her.
Wow! This brought back so many happy childhood memories of sitting in front of the television with my brother and sisters. We loved this show! I was 7 years old. 🥲💖 ... I'm not crying! ... *You're* crying! 😭
I enjoy looking back at the cooky TV shows of the 60's. Some episodes were rarely aired but you can see them here on YT. I'm glad I found this one. It was fun to watch.
Such a cute show... with heart. I love that the humor didn't come from non-stop canned jokes.. but from characters, just being themselves. What a great time in TV history.
innocent times, at least on tv. i turned 9 in 1967 and though i don't remember much of this show i did watch it back then on our family black and white tv with only ONE channel serving the whole country ( NZ) i did notice the homage to the sound of music in the opening with her and the children. thanks for this
What a sweet delightful and innocent show. I thank the Lord that, after almost 60 years, my heart has not hardened to the gentleness of this classic. The 60s had its problem but we still retained decency in our public broadcasts and Christian values were upheld. God bless.
When I was growing up, I remember people making fun of this series. Rewatching it now, I find it wholesome and charming. And Sally Field despite her family's prediction became a great actress.
In the 70’s we were blessed with reruns of this show, I Dream of Jeannie, Hogan’s Heroes, Bewitched, I Love Lucy, Lost in Space, Batman, and a few others.
I used to watch this when I was still 4 yrs. Old. I was humorously educated and saw the world positively. Thanks God and to all the tv shows on these 60, 70, 80 and 90's tv shows and sitcoms.😅😂❤😊🎉
The fifth episode of the first season is the mist touching of the entire series. Sister Bertril gets transferred to The Holy City but suddenly there is an overwhelming demonstration of support for her staying
Great series with my favorite actress Sally field she was so sweet n lovable back then playing a humorous nun funny stuff!!! 😁 was really great 👍 👌 thanks for sharing this ❤❤❤🎉🎉🎉
@@dinarusso3320 What a ridiculous show. I've yet to find anything that Sally Field could act in. Except Steel Magnolias....she needed age and maturity
@@jacqueline8559 pfft. This was far more imaginative than ANYTHING Post Millenials have CREATED. Oh, snap! Post Millenials can't create anything new; just recycle ridiculous Comic Books, or obiliterate cough reimagine classic literature.
I did too our nuns had the black habits I caused a lot of trouble but those nuns were merciful to me They were Jesus nuns I appreciate the time I went to St Cyril’s in Tucson Arizona At least they set a Christian foundation.
@@wdgbirmingham2The nun in the driver's seat of the car that wouldn't work at the beginning of the show when they were going to the dock to pick up Sally Field.
It makes me sad to watch anything with Sally cause she has always reminded me so much of my mom who passed 3 urs ago and she always talked about these movies but I had never wzt he'd any of them til now and I'm so glad I did 😊😊
In elementary school, because of this show and the 1960s Superman series, I believed it was possible to fly if I did it just right. I dreamed about flying to school, flying across fields. The Singing Nun was a wonderful movie.
Poor Sally Field really didn’t want to do this series. Her Stepfather Jock basically said to her -if you don’t do this, you will never work again “ from “In pieces’ by Sally field
Vintage TV was and still is the best. This show was kinda corning but magic and something I wish wud come back. OMG - Sally Fields (with an S) was at her best.
So funny to see this after so many years. Levitating saints are not unknown LOL, but I could never understand how she kept the Cornette from coming off. 😁
Fun to see this again. I can't count how many times I have told a young person about how Sally rescued her career from this show. Don't get me wrong. It was a great show. But damn, she pretty much had to do Smokie to expand her career. And boy did she. Such a wonderful actor. I think Steel Magnolias was her best.
One of her sons is a screen writer who wrote The Town with Ben Affleck. I thought it was interesting the disguises used in the bank job ere nuns (his mama’s first major role).
This was back in the days when kids could dream and fantasise and imagine and create with virtually little stimulus. Nowadays kids are extremely vacant.
I loved the flying nun. My mother died when I was 6 years old, when I went to sleep I would dream of being able to fly escaping my pain just like sister Bertrille.
LOLZ.. I wonder how many young women, upon seeing this GLOWING representation of Catholicism, joined a local convent? Only to find they WEREN'T all smiles and sunshine but were, instead, dower and cruel (rhymes with stitches). Nonetheless, I thank you for, not only uploading this, but from the Master no less. Cheers from Canada! =)
I always found it interesting how nuns never allowed their hair to show outside their wimple, but Sr. Bertrille sported her Gidget bangs throughout the series.
