Is that a whisk handle?! I 'invented' (/copied from Incra) an insert system which could be easily retrofitted to your table and would avoid you having to worry about that lip when changing bits. 1) Go to www.lasermaster.co.uk/easy-order and order some CNC cut washers - I think I used 60mm diameter with various sized holes for my various diameter bits. I think I went with either 1mm or 1.5mm. The 'washers' are cheap (£4.50 each), despite being custom CNC cut for you. Make sure you get the mild steel ones (as they are magnetic). 2) Cut a recess the same outside diameter (60mm in my case) as the washers that you ordered and slightly deeper than the thickness of the washers. 3) Get some neodynium magnets with countersunk holes and screw them into the recess (4 is probably best). 4) Use the screws to level the insert you only have to do this once, as all the 'washers' that you ordered are the same thickness (you did order them all the same thickness, right?!?) Hey presto DIY Incra Magnalock system for about £15. You could also upgrade this system (with a bit of modding under-table) from Magnalock to Incra CleanSweep. It's an awesome, easy to implement system and far easier than most inserts on the market - needing a special key is a PITA (something you are probably more than aware of with that Trend plate).
I have been thinking about this system as well (also from John's channel) but i think that i will either go with a scissor lift construction of a 90 degrees wooden gears.. i know...i'm pushing my luck...
