I am so glad formians were mentioned here, and owlbears since I use both heavily when I DM. In fact my party are in a sub/major quest titled "The Formians Rise", since they are normally from Nirvana they have been showing a heavy presence in the material plane in the world I created called Loxos. I call it a sub/major quest because it holds absolute precedence, but in all actuality it's just a red herring for something else that is going on and my PCs are unaware of it. Yeah...anyway ever since I first discovered the formians I've thought "I'm gonna do something big with these guys!" They fascinate me because they aren't actually evil, to them what they do is just the natural process of expansion. Yet they have to be some of the most detrimental creatures to society out there, and they are doing it with a sense of duty to the queen. Great pick Jerry, I'll quit rambling now.
Aaaah. Æbleskiver! 'Appleslices' translated directly. I have no idea why it's called that, but they're fucking delicious. Here in Denmark, we often dip them in powdered sugar or/and jam - but dip them in whatever you want to, chocolate, salsa, it's all good :)
They are called "æbleskiver" because in the older days here in Denmark, people would put slices or cuts of apples in the dough ( I presume after the first side of the æbleskriver had formed, so there would be a small piece of apple inside each of them). here is the wiki with some pictures of the æbleskriver and the form you need to make them: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/%C3%86bleskiver And agree with drschplatt, that it is similar to Takoyaki, which also is an awesome dish. btw Jerry did really well in pronouncing the word "æbleskriver" in Danish. Good job :)
Please make a 'D team' source book where players interact with other teams as npcs or something c,: to play a character of my own in the AI realm would be epic!! Not to mention dat D
when asked what AI character they would want to play, the fact nobody said binwin is really sad. R.I.P. Bronzebottom clan. (also happy nobody said Aeofel)
I'ma post this here too; my idea for Draconic Entitlement: Draconic Entitlement Target(s?) takes 3d6 psychic damage and makes a wisdom save (Vs Donaar's charisma). On failed save, the target(s?) must obey Donaar's command, even if it is to act against their interest or alignment (ie, hurt themselves or allies). On a successful save, the target(s?) take 2d6 psychic damage every round until they comply. Thoughts?
it's interesting, but it feels more of a combat thing or might kill NPCs they're trying to convince to do things. In addition it's pretty powerful now but will get weaker the further they progress assuming they're going to level relatively normally. Supposedly Donaar was built to be strong in the combat pillar, so damage isn't something i think Donaar needs. I think the framework is great, but the penalty should be different. The penalty doesn't have to exclude combat, but potentially killing commoners by yelling at them is probably something to avoid.
How about a strictly better command with no word restriction and have Vicious Mockery level damage if need be; 1d4 to start 2d4(5th) 3d4 (11th) 4d4 (17th).
Yeah, I had some trouble thinking of damage scaling--and I did think it a little hilarious the possibility of nuking some commoner by accident, lol, but then I thought about the other guys' powers and their potential against boss level enemies, so I wanted it to have some oomph. But I think you're right, Vicious Mockery level damage would do pretty good damage if it's a DOT. In the comments of the gameplay vid, another user suggested disadvantage against the target as well, so how about this? Draconic Entitlement Brimming with privilege Donaar makes a demand of a creature. The creature must obey Donaar's command, even if it is to act against their interest or alignment (ie, hurt themselves or allies) or have disadvantage and take 1d4 psychic damage every turn until they comply. Increase the damage dealt by 1d4 at 5th, 11th and 17th levels. That actually feels pretty solid. Thoughts?
Æbleskiver for breakfast? It's a Christmas treat. You monsters.! How dare you defile our traditions!? Eh. Who am I kidding I eat em whenever I have any excuse xD
