There's a lot to unpack here! Rows/columns are the best for Tableau - keep the JSON simple without any nesting, or use a text file (CSV, tab/pipe separated, etc.) if you can do that. Generally long, thin files are more efficient than short and wide. You can print to a PDF directly from Tableau - that would be my preferred method rather than trying to extract the visuals with a program and load them somewhere else.
