I wish I had found your video earlier. I would have loved to save the $25.00. I love y Tablo, for some reason I see a lot of low reviews, but I think most of them are from those that owned the older version. Since I have only had the new Tablo 4th Gen with 4 Tuners I have nothing else to compare it with. The interface is smooth, fast and easy to use. I get 74 channels over the air plus the streaming channels that come with Tablo. Its great! I also use Roku on all my TV' and so far, it's been flawless.
Sorry you can use any antenna. I got mine at Walmart for $12 an old school rabbit ear. on the back of the tablo. There's a screw in antenna port exactly the same as on the back of your TV. That's where you plug in the antenna. Hope that helps! That's where you would put it in.
Yes, any antenna will work with the tableau DVR. This would be a good choice if you don't get good reception with a less expensive rabbit ear antenna. Please use my link if you decide to buy amzn.to/4eCHRlK I also have this link for $20 off if you decide to get a tablo DVR. rwrd.io/yth3b09?c
Not sure what's going on with your unit but for me it does fast Ford or rewind. When watching a recording that's still recording live it doesn't show you exactly where it left off the picture, but when it's pre recorded you can actually fast forward frame by frame?
The OTA antenna I have is not the roof mounted but the HDTV Ultra Thin antenna that can mount to house wall. Can this antenna be used? And if so, can I install this antenna near my router to utilize the ethernet connection instead of near the TV and using the WiFi?
I believe the answer will be yes. The back of the tablo has a standard antenna connection. You also have an ethernet port in the back. You will have to plug the tablo in. the fourth connection is a USB port for additional hard drive space. You will access the guide and the hard drive of your tablo by downloading the tablo app onto your smart TV. I have a link right below my video where you can save $20 on the tablo so please utilize it if you decide to get one. Thanks, Gary PS I'm recording MLB playoff baseball this week.
When you purchase the tablo you'll download the app. In my case, I downloaded the app to my Roku so the Roku remote will open and work with the app. You can also control the app from your phone or Google or Apple TV. Depending what you have. You do need to be on the same Wi-Fi as the tableau to use it. I.e you can't watch from your phone if you're at work but you could at home. Take advantage of my $20 off coupon in the description if you decide to get the tableau. Thanks, Cash Wise
You Will need an internet connection to use your tablo. It will record and play TV from your antennae. RU-vid will be accessible via the web or a separate app on your smart TV,
Here are the hookup instructions from Amazon. Sorry it's kind of long. Put the batteries into the remote. Connect the USB cable to the power adapter and the Stick. Plug in the Stick to the TV's HDMI port. Use the HDMI extender cable if it's difficult to plug the Stick into the TV's HDMI port. Plug in the power adapter to the wall. Avoid plugging the USB cable directly into the TV. Turn on your TV and switch to the correct HDMI input. Tip: Use the remote that came with your TV to select the HDMI source or input. Follow the on-screen instructions to connect to Wi-Fi and download the latest software update. Sign in with your Amazon account. Use your mobile phone or computer to visit the on-screen web address (amazon.com/code) and enter the verification code. Follow the on-screen questions to set up equipment control for devices like soundbars.
I have not tried it but it sounds like it can be done but maybe a bit technical. There are some posts on Reddit on how to do it, but again it looks a bit technical. Good luck!
