Beautiful movie, that most of us from the black LGBTQ can relate to very well. It's hard to find African & Caribbean movies like this because of all the brutality & hostility so thank you kindly. True love is never returned void as LOVE is LOVE
@@adriancampbell4778 yes I also enjoyed children of god, really good movie indeed. I also like the skinny, play the devil is also good despite the name lol my favorite is Noahs arc movie
This film was mind blowing and that's how I know you can do better, I'd like these gay characters to have strong and valid explanation of who they are, their show of emotions and valid points that can educate viewers and teach them that being gay is not a matter of choice and it's not a curse either. And help young men and women who are victims of homophobia, we need to change the narrative, being gay is not about being able to enjoy same sex sex, rather it's the need for us to feel loved and be able to love freely and worship God in truth and in spirit knowing fully well that he didn't make a mistake creating us, God doesn't make a mistake. So we're just as good as straight people and we need to worship God just as he wants. I watched "prayers for bubby" and Everytime I think of the movie, I cry because that's what most of us are going through now, but it's movies like that that will educate the public better, so I'd like you to take some inspiration from there, thank you for choosing to be a voice for us
Sad story, yet very true. I am moved to tears. The writer and director were very brave. From what I understand not only did they put their lives on the line, but they dared to risk imprisonment. That is if what we read about Nigeria and its treatment of gay people is true.
But movies are a reflection of what's going on in the society, if movies like drugs and others can be acted, why not LGBTQ movies. Some people don't know why people are gay and the frustration attached to it. Like imagine trying to be real knowing that you'd be hated for who would do that?
Nigerians are good at paper work, they ignore some of their laws as if they didn't write them. And it's because some of the laws are actually irrelevant. Why do you have to care about what others do in their bedroom
Great movie. Damage has already been caused just because the mother refused to accept her son's lifestyle, causing him to take a dangerous substance, leading to kidney failure. Now. She gave an order for his friends not to visit him. She's causing more harm. When her son finds out he will be very upset, all this could lead him back to the way everything started and slow down his healing process. Listen to your children and love them with all of your heart. I loved the way the mother came thru for her son. For one to take their life is not kool.
Close and lock the door next time to prevent all of this trouble. It doesnt matter if you bring a boy or girlfriend. Moms always have suspicions. Or find another quiet spot to be intimate with each other. Your family isnt going to change their religious and cultural views just because you love someone. Try to be smart with the way you go about things.🙏🏾💯❤️
I shed a tear watching this movie ama big fan of goerge I think he should be featured on more films he Is very promising. For what is worth, love is love.💑
This film was really amazing, love is love. Lol, we didn't get to see George's mum apologise to her son and David at the end, then maybe acknowledge her ignorance and accept her son...and pass a strong message to homophobic/ignorant persons. Nonetheless, thank you for this amazing film. More wins🙏🔥🔥❗
More to show, Homosexuality has no cure and we ought to let the world know Thanks for watching Follow up for more amazing piece from PATSFIELD PRODUCTION
The truth of life is learning to love, accept and RESPECT yourself for who you are, without the need of anyone else's approval, is becoming a man. Demanding respect, not acceptance is becoming a man. A boy begs for approval, but a man doesn't. If that means creating distance or cutting off all communication, a man will do that for his spiritual survival. It will hurt however humans are designed to amputate our own limbs, if caught and causing us imminent death, before we sit and succumb. I see no difference when it comes to our hearts fulfillment, had to do it with my family and have no regrets. Parents and family have made their choices. The journey of separation starts when the umbilical cord is cut. Parents are not deities. They are humans with flaws just like everyone one else. They make mistakes and can be mistaken their whole lives if they choose to remain so. No one has the right to judge or dictate any human beings right to love. That antiquated belief is as harmful as slavery itself. "You teach people how to treat you." 🖤🧑🏾🤝🧑🏿❤️💪🏾💚
It was worth the watch, i wish parents and the sociality can understand that some of use were born this way and no matter how hard you try you just can't help it.
Although a tragic story line, I loved the simplicity and directness of this short African film. I must say, that even though this topic is highly controversial in Nigeria, I loved it was presented in such a humane way. I see Nigerian films evolving greatly!
Bravo for opening up a conversation about GLBT+ people and their lives in Nigeria, and across the African continent. We all know it not only needs to be discussed but peoples' rights must be protected. I wonder, though, is Nigeria, is Africa actually ready to talk about it in a genuine, mature manner?
South Africa outlawed discrimination against lgbtqi + people back in 1996, becoming the first country in the world to do so. So it's no longer up for discussion in South Africa, it just is. That's an African country.
Africa is ready. Africa is huge, and I don't believe the propaganda that ruthless homophobia has always been the rule throughout Africa and its history. Africa is and always has been the most culturally diverse place on the planet. I have faith in African humanity. That said, it does not mean that the mainstream LGBT pride movement that we see is what's best for every culture in the world.
I wish more people in the world would understand god still loves us regardless he died for a reason because of our sins he died for us and we have to thank him everyday for that.
First of all homosexuality was never a sin in our back then societies. It's was considered normal just like heterosexuality (both never even be mentioned as sexual orientation. People will Just love one and another regardless the gender and sex will be the cherry on top). All this sin thing came with colonialism and christianism and The will for later then capitalism to increase the domografic to produce more and more... That's when homosexuality became forbidden. What really hurts it's that Africans as usual have been brainwashed. Y'all better go to School and make some extra time to learn about ur black history because nobody will ever teach u none of these. In another way There's no proof up to now that Sodom and Gomorrah ever existed. The bible is a well written fantasy book. All of this is so sad. U are ur God. Wake up African people !
Those final scenes shook me. If their families had treated them more respectfully, all of that trauma could have been avoided. Gut wrenching, heart breaking, soul destroying end result to something that could have been such a beautiful romance between two young guys who were both experiencing challenging environments but whom decided to love and guide eachother along the way. Such a beautiful sacrifice for the one you love. It took for the families to experience an unexpected tragedy for them to silence themselves and see the love that was lost and the price to be paid thereafter. This is a story that we all should learn from and apply to ourselves. If love goes before us, then condemnation will remain behind us. You don't have to change your beliefs, but you will find ways to live with your beliefs whilst you respectfully allow others to live their lives.
Wow it's really amazing,my first time seeing African bl series and av loved it so much just hope one day our society appreciate and accept love in every way
It is very common to see the discrimination suffered by the GLBTI community, especially in poor and underdeveloped countries where, unfortunately, a strong patriarchal and religious influence keeps this community in exclusion, harassment and generalised discrimination.
@@jasmenkida7879 He's saying that the LGBTQ community are more safe in developed countries and not used as a scapegoat for poverty as they are in underdeveloped countries.
wow, it got regrettably sad on the end, i knew it was the end of George, his brother loved him so much, I could feel his heartbreak after learning he had passed. so sad.
The movie is mind-blowing and inspirational I pray George soul rest in peace and for John suicide is never a solution to any problem be strong and move on thanks guys am inspired
In African culture men can do to each other from behind like in 5:25 with no looking at each other, but men facing each other as they do it is taboo (13:04).
The mother is a real witch. First she encourages the boys to feel comfortable in their love for each other, then she goes hysterical when she sees them making love leading to her son's suicide attempt. At the end she does it again bringing George's brother home to her son so that she again can catch them fooling around and provoking another suicide.
The mothers soul will pay on earth and eternally for the suicidal pain she caused her son and the death of his love, George. She's only being nice to George's brother from guilt but trust and believe God & Karma will never let her have peace. Fight for Rights 🖤✊🏾❤️🧑🏾🤝🧑🏿💚!
No, she is not a witch. If she knew better, she would do better. She only reacted based on the society she lives in and the knowledge she has at the time.
Hey there handsome man I love to meet George I don’t hide my felling from no one 😡” I talk to guys and you know what 😊” everybody love my commasation? Be true to your self 😊” bye from lightning 😊
So painful, must you end it with such sadness, I'm crying here already, assuming George survived the kidney transplant, it would have been the best movie for me 😢😢
Good movie, but please, don't let the music overpower the dialog. Background music can be ok as long as it's kept in the background. If you have to struggle to hear the dialog over the music, then the music is too loud.
I don't like watching of movies buh I'm very happy with this very well ,those guys who acted as gays are very good, please bring more , kelly and charlie are my best actors so far❤️ we need more movie Thank you 🙏
What a great fabulous movie.why didn't the women apologize to David and her son huh? May friend passed through the same thing that was what put him his early grave today because of his parents homophobic nature even thou the siblings and friends like us accepted him.please this movie should and must go viral .I love u all
Living your life in denier is so much painful 💔. We should learn to accept what live gives each and everyone of us because we are not the givers of one self hobbit mostly especially when it come to our sex life.
I fill bad after the death of George it’s seemingly real is that how someone has to end his life after the good her did pty the brother David I like this boy DAVID mostly in this movie her was so cool ❤🫶🏼♥️🫡 happy for yuo guys 🌹👀
Here in my country Kenya 🇰🇪 they can't allow this kind of movies love this movie iam not gay but I don't judge anyone love ever one like brother and sister
I think George brother should be commend despite the act still didn't crucified his brother instead cautioned him and made him understand religion perspective of it, the society and culture.
Why did the movie have to been so sad, there is a lot of happiness and good Times in our lives. Keep in mind, one of GOD'S greatest commands is no one should Kill another human........
