My experience is mostly being asked what I am and I gladly say mixed then tell them what my parents are. I think the more people know who we are the better.
Mixed culture, & maybe mixed race. For example are we assuming the French person is Caucasian? They might be of Arabic descent or Caucasian-Arabic, etc. The American could be any race, ot just Caucasian. So it's possible to loosely make the statement, "Oh, they're mixed race, French & American," & mean that the person is mixed culturally & racially.
Mixed race people we are the hybrids. Mix a lion with a tiger and it creates the majestic liger who is bigger and physically stronger. Never forget how special you are 💗
Sometimes you can’t tell a mixed race person it’s only if they mention it. Most mixed race people are the ones who make big deals out of being mixed race. I have mixed race people in my family and we embrace them.
If someone is voicing they have a struggle with fitting in, you shouldn't be so dismissive. Their pain might be different but it is still pain at the end of the day
Then their lucky but not all mixed race people have such positive experiences :) When a mixed race person struggles it has triggers and does not just happen out of nowhere.
If a person has an invisible disability-- it's not seen, but they still bear the weight of it. No one may notice unless they mention it.... However, it still exists, & furthermore, the person w/ this invisible disability hears the many not so positive comments of others who can't tell they are disabled. As a result, they are very aware of others' feelings about people like them. In other words, the issue is not that, "see they would appear "normal" or like everyone else around them if the didn't say anything." Whether or not they say anything, they are like & unlike others around them. Their speaking up about it doesn't bring about the unlikeness to the majority, they are actually similar & dissimilar to the majority. This experience is very likely the experience of the mixed-race person you've described.
@@pseudonymphmusic7721 Why stop? Mixing cultures is what will lead to a true utopia. If there are no differences, there is no racism. There is no racism if we all are the same race. Like it or not, that is slowly where humanity is headed. Join the march of progress sister, or fall behind alone and selfish.
The thing about some mixed race people I don't get is if you don't ask, they'll usually tell you what they are without you having any interest, whatsoever. But if you ask them, they say, "I'm human." with an attitude. Oh 🆗️ 🆒️
Well if you're obviously monoracial, you don't get the "What are you?" question. I personally don't mind if people ask me politely about my ethnic background out of curiosity, but it does get tiring to have to constantly explain myself.
Well the “what are you question” seems a little rude and invasive to begins with. No mixed person owes others an explanation of what their mixed with and it’s true we’re all human 🤷♀️
But she said her dad is (East) Indian & her mom is mixed race Jamaican-- as such she isn't bi-racial (meaning 2 races), but mixed-race, meaning several races combined.
Lets be totally honest here any way we look at it on all honestly if our European 4 fathers didn't colonize everything they seen and touched we wouldn't have the stereotypes we'd have our culture.(period)
Thank God someone said it. She had a LOT more to talk about, and completely disregarded mixed people who are not in touch with their families and who do not live/experience within multiple cultures. I'm very mixed, and I found it very hard to relate most of the time :/
