This is so helpful. I just bought a place with a bunch of tall lanky oleanders and wasn’t sure how much I could cut off. Thanks!

We recently trimmed them again. My husband took off around 8 feet, along with trimming up the sides. It will look a bit bare and woody for a few weeks. However, in no time they will bush out again. Thank you for watching. :)

@@birdhousegarden Can I ask if he took any precautions due to the toxicity?

@@VelvetandToads I didn't. A few years ago we dropped them off at the winery. This time we had the city pick them up. We have what's called 'big item' week where we live. We placed them out at the curb and the city came by and picked them up.

They are a fast growing shrub/tree. It’s time for us to cut it back again.

You know these are poisonous? Should wear clothes and you can’t burn these.

Hello, how old is your trees? Thanks 😊
@birdhousegarden

At least 25 years old. I would like to replace them. We're just not willing to give up the privacy they provide. :) There is a privet among the oleander as well.

@@birdhousegarden wow. I hear ya. Those are great for privacy and low maintenance. We were wondering how long will it take until we get some shade like yours 😊 Ours came in a 28 gallon pot and we got 3 of them. Thanks.
