I went down to Taco Bell 3 different times when they brought the Enchirito back a few months ago. Unfortunately it was only back for a few weeks. The enchirito has been my favorite Taco Bell item since I first ate there back in the early 1970's. I actually saved a couple of those plastic containers they put them in, incase I decide to do a similar video someday LOL. Great job Mike, it sure looked a lot like the real deal.
Your passion for Taco Bell always makes me chuckle. In fact, it's good to know if anything ever happens to T, you could make a happy life together with a Taco Bell Restaurant. lol RIP dad! Your legacy lives on in Mike.
All I can say is make sure you’re subscribed to the channel and have notifications set to all. I hear this from a lot of people. The algorithm on RU-vid is biased and it shadow bans a lot of us.
Thank you Mike for this! I used to get these in little tin trays back in the day. Too bad you can not get these at Taco Bell anymore. This is a GREAT replacement. Going to try it and let you know.
That looked pretty darn close to the real thing Mike, nice. My favorite Taco Bell item was a thing called the Taco Light that used to have a taco shell that tasted like the bowl from a taco salad. They discontinued it in the 90's but was my favorite thing they had. The Mexican Pizza was the next thing I liked but it was better years ago but that could be my taste buds changing as well. Nice video, thanks!
Mike that looked really good , they sell the fire sauce in bottles know at Walmart. My favorite fast food item taco bell had and is gone was there taco salad
Fantastic Mike! Thanks a million for the shout-out. I think I have been with you from the beginning. It's amazing how fast your channel has grown. That looked absolutely EPIC! All that cheese was🔥🔥. I also like how you made your own sauce. I'm with you. The enchurito is my favorite fast food item, hands down. I could eat those every day. I'm glad I started making my own. Once again, thanks for the shout-out. Have a great weekend, brother. 👍
Thank you, Brother! I appreciate you checking it out 🙏. I’ve been telling my wife I want to make another since I did this video lol. I think I’ll make a tray of them this weekend.
Looked amazing Mike! Never had one of those but definitely going to get one now 😆. I love the taco supremes most of the time but anything the Bell has will do!. Great job once again and Cheers 🍻 till the next episode.
first time watching you. it's always been my favorite also I keep asking my local T.B.s there not available...you're the man thank you much !!! I have cheese ALLERGIES. so I do ALL FRESCO STYLE. still very good..
Great video Mike! That looks delicious! If you like the fire sauce, try this one. It tastes very similar. Cheers! Ingredients: • 6oz Can Tomato Paste • 3 Cups Water • 3 Tbsp White Vinegar • 1/2 Cup Jalapeno Slices • 1 Tbsp Chili Powder • 1 Tbsp Dehydrated Minced Onions • 2 Tsp Salt • 2 Tsp Cornstarch • 1 Tsp Cayenne Pepper • 1 Tsp Sugar • Dash of Onion & Garlic Powder Directions: 1. Add all the listed ingredients into a blender or a large food processor. 2. If you have a Vitamix, let it blend on high until steam is present. 3. This mixture will cook down without the use of a stove top. 4. After everything is blended, bring this mixture to a boil in a sauce pan and let simmer for 10 minutes.
Absolutely Fantastic ✅ Thank You So Much. I’ve been going to Taco Bell since 1968. I Still love it My Favorite is Taco Supreme but I also make all my Taco Bell Tacos at home from Scratch w/ Taco Bell Sauce of Course. My favorite all time Fast Food is In n Out 3x3 Well Done Fries & Tommy’s Double Chili Cheese Burgers 🍔. ❤. I also make Copy Kat From those at home also. Cheers Mike. Have a Great SuperBowl Sunday I’m making tons of stuff Maybe a you tube video also. 🎉Take Care
Love it Mike! I really love a Culver"s Double Smash burger but 2nd place is Probably the Taco Bell Mexican Pizza. Hey...I'd love to see you whip up one of those! Cheers Buddy!
Great job Mike! I never had an Enchirito but I will have to give this a try someday! My favorite fast food back in the day was a slice of sausage and mushroom pizza from Rocky Rococo's! hahaha
Looks really good. My favorite fast food item can vary, but I do like anything Asian, like Japanese, and Mediterranean, such as Greek, or Italian. I do like onions and olives, very much. Cheers, Mike! 👍👍✌️
I'm different I always loved Onions especially in my mom's Potato Salad 😋😋😋😋😋😋😋😋😋😋😋😋. But that enchilada looks delicious. I would keep the olive out being I don't like olives.
The original Enchirito used a tortilla that was a mix of masa harina (corn) and wheat flours. If wanted replicate the original exactly, this would actually be the most difficult component to replicate.
Yes! I have been saying for years that the original Enchirito was made with a yellow tortilla. Finally someone (besides my wife) has corroborated my ancient memories.
"Screw it…I’m putting the whole thing in there." Lol..🤣 No such thing as too much cheese! I’ve never had this from Taco Bell, but your version sure looks delicious! I used to like Taco Bell Nachos Belle Grande, back in the day. Idk if they still have this…haven’t been to TB in years.
OMG I am soo making this tomorrow! Mine will be a lil different because I just made a bunch of Mexican adobo sauce to preserve so I am going to use that but this looks amazing 🤤🤤! My fav was the pinto and cheese, Mexican pizza (which I’ve made) and the enchirito. Wow thanks for the idea. New subbie. ✌🏾
I was hesitant about your red sauce having a tomato base. My sister and I watched your video and gave it a try. We were hoping to have a nostalgic visit to the 1970's Taco Bell Enchirito we remembered as teenagers . We were very disappointed. It was more like something Olive Garden would make. We asked some of our Mexican friends and relatives about it. They told us enchilada sauce doesn't have a tomato base. It has a water base or chicken broth base. You might want to get some tips from your Mexican friends or associates. I mean this to be helpful to you and your viewers. 😊
You obviously didn’t make it correctly and I think your Mexican friends are fake people posing as real Mexicans. This recipe is the real deal, just read the vast majority of the comments. Cheers 🍻
I worked at Taco Bell in the late 80s/early 90s when they made the red sauce from packets of powder. The first ingredient listed was Paprika, which generally means it is the most plentiful ingredient. Maybe it has changed since then but just an FYI...
Just found your channel and I'm going to try this. I see you use packets of TB fire hot sauce, haven't you found a good copycat fire hot sauce recipe yet?
For me, it is hands down the enchirito. I’ve asked how do we get it back. I was told that people have to ask for it back on the web site. Can you mention that on your channel? Thanks
So this is supposed to be a merging of an enchilada and a burrito, however when I bought one the other day, I was sad to see that they literally used a basic soft taco on its side with the red sauce. The red sauce and cheese is great but is it worth $2 extra? I might get a soft taco and add red sauce and extra cheese to compare.
Beef Baja is awesome! Taco Bell is our favorite fast food joint of all time. Was just there getting the Enchirito yesterday cause it’s back again for a limited time.
Pig sandwich, used to get them at the Pig Stand in San Antonio years ago, and while Pig Stand is still there the recipe has changed and is now not very good.
Nobody remembers this this. Taco Bell used to make an item called a Taco Bell Grande which was nothing more than a big size crunchy taco supreme with black olives on top. Would like to see this one duplicated.
Soon close, you were doing well until you used a flour tortilla. The original was a yellow corn tortilla. I remember when it arrived in 1970. They changed it to a flour tortilla years later after having mold problems because the corn tortillas had a much shorter shelf life and they used the flour tortilla for multiple items. Plus the flour tortillas were cheaper. I worked for corporate Taco Bell in the 80's 90's and again in the late 90's for the Southern Bells franchise of Taco Bell where I became an AGM.I learned a lot about the company from the inside out. Good effort though.
I followed you directions to the letter and my results were absolutely horrible. Seriously nasty 🤢 All I could taste was cumin, vinegar and some tomato. I don’t understand what went wrong but my attempts were nothing short of an abomination.
No real favorite, fast food item I think most fast food is garbage. I would say a deluxe pizza from Domino’s thin crust only probably one of the best national brand pizzas on the market. In my opinion, I make big pans of enchiladas in the similar manner, but instead of rolling them up, I do it like a lasagna. It turns out fantastic top it off with some jalapeños right out of the jar after it cooks and some sour cream.
