Thank you so much for the wiring explanation! I was having so many issues with the DRL staying on and such! This is the only video on the website explaining the DRL wires. Especially for the TRD models! Whatever I need for TACOMA, I'm definitely purchasing it from you guys!

@@Runnin4Tacos I have watched all of your videos regarding both the Alpharex Nova and Luxx series headlights and I wanted to know what your opinion was on the two? Which one do you prefer? Is one better then the other? I'm sure the light patterns between the two is different? Is one brighter than the other. I am trying to decide between these two in the alpha-black.
So how do u hook up the passenger side ? Being that there is no fuse connection on that side to cut off. Do we just plug in the brown wire and leave the DRL connection unplugged?
I learned that these headlights have terrible light throw. They fire most of their light right in front of you, on the ground and lack any focus at 42'. The OEM LED headlights or even Morimoto LED headlights has much more usable light. Morimoto LED headlights have bad highbeams though.
What model is the truck a trd Offroad? I installed mine but I have no DRL’s didn’t install the drl harness per instructions but watching this is making me think I need to install it
Hey Guys I purchased alpa Rex head lights a couple of weeks ago. And running day lights look great. But driving at night the light output is very very poor. Please think about spending $1200 for head lights that are poor lighting when driving at night.
Right? I bought AlphaRex back in Feb, and was seriously disappointed with the light output. And other than the Logo, they do look nice. If you are spending $1000+ on headlights, you would wanted them for more than just for looks. With quad projectors, you would think they would have at least decent light throw. OEM LED or Morimoto LED Headlights for looks and function.
@@Runnin4Tacos Ye, your AB6 headlights which are proper HID retrofits, are much better in terms of light output and useability than anything on the aftermarket right now.

You know how you attached the grey wire to the TRD adapter on the driver side ? What do I do with that TRD adapter for the DRL TRD adapter on the passenger side ?
I managed to put the lights on and glad to have purchased the lights, however got into a snag with the side panel, trying to pull and separate the panel and ended breaking the black plastic piece that holds onto the panel so now i am having to glue the piece on or try to locate a similar piece and the fenders i put on doesn't fit right and getting frustrated and may order the original OEM piece, which came in white but preferred the black. of course my hands got cut up, yeah i am whining like a little girl, hey just venting .
Let me dislike this video because this video is unfinished. You never showed the passenger side and when i got to that point i got stuck with 3 things not connected. Thank you for that.
When are you going to post output or comparison shots? I ordered a set, but have been hearing they are not very good. Was hoping you could shed some light on these. Debating on canceling my order and ordering oem LEDs. Please post soon. Thanks
Just installed this on my 3rd gen Tacoma. I did ran into an issue where the high beams weren’t turning on. I seemed to wire everything correctly, but the only time the high beams would turn on is if I switched the low and high beam connectors, which isn’t the correct way to do it obviously. Any suggestions? Thanks!
I am about to hook up the tacovinyl raptor grille 2.0 with the drl leds on the corners. My question is: Do I tap into the aplharex controller power or the preexisting, now unused, original drl hook up? My thoughts are if i utilize the preexisting, unused drl hook up from the stock headlights, I will be able to control from the switch as far as on and off goes? 2017 trd sport
Is there a harness or anything that will make these work with canadian tacomas? I've read that the drl stays on amber and won't go back to the white led.
Awesome install video, after a few days I’ve noticed the driver side drl will turn off but not the passenger side drl. Have you seen or experienced this issue?
@@Runnin4Tacos your team got me a contact at alpharex who walked me through what to check for, found a faulty wire connection in the side marker…warranty in the works
@@stavyscoot Do you mind sharing that contact? I just installed mine and I am getting a similar issue where the driver side drl stays ON in amber color all the time, sometimes it flickers.
My ALPHA REX lights are not working, the passenger side head lights are not working, It was working, but a mechanic said it was because of the Ballast. I rewired and tried to find the problem, even tried to call the company. can you change the light bulbs in the head lights, even thought I bought it from you guess in Feb 2021 , changed them out back to stock and now the head lights for the passenger side is not working , after replacing all 4 LED's. I am guessing the fuse , and that is located under the dash
I have 2 extra wires on the passenger side. One that goes from the DRL (the one we used to splice on the driver side, the single red wire) and the round connector that the wire with the yellow plastic thing connected to on the driver side. Do we just leave these wires unplugged?
Just wanted to know , when you lock your truck and use your FOB key, is it expected for the passenger side headlights to stay on for a few seconds? Is this a expected feature when locking your truck?
When I’m on the Tacomabeast website or alpha Rex what option would I select to get the module or is it sold separately if so where can I buy it?im trying to get the same exact ones as shown in the video just need to know what option to select for that module buying the headlights it’s either “converter(trd projector headlights)” or “converter (For Factory LED headlights)”
cool stuff. i'm in the market for one as i have the halogens on my taco as of now. do you guys recommend the oem led or these? prices are somewhat the same
I have a 2020 SR5 and installed these headlights with no issues, they function properly. However when I started the truck it struggles to idle or stalls when I give the gas. Figured it’s the ECU, so I tried resetting the ECU by disconnecting the negative battery wire for 10 minutes. Still struggles to idle. Any ideas?
Bro, dont waste your time with this video, this guy cant explain it. For an SR5 you dont need that jacked up ass box to get sequential signals and the running lights around the lamp. The lights are plug and play, just has 4 connections for each lamp.
Please don’t use that short repetitive music on repeat throughout an entire video again. Music is annoying and makes it hard to focus on what you’re saying. Otherwise, great video!
