This video misses an important point. Fuses can be plugged in backwards. There is no polarity to a fuse. Add a fuse adaptors cannot be plugged in backwards if you want your new circuit to be fuse protected. You need to know which side of the fuse holder is powered. The no wire side of the adaptor needs to go to power. If you don't have a multimeter and know how to use it.............find someone who does. If not, you run a 50% chance of having no fuse protection on your new circuit. Do you really want to pay Toyota to work on your electrical system?
I purchased these lights but haven't installed them because I can't seem to get a straight answer from the Tacoma Lifestyle website so hopefully someone will see this and please help me out. The video shows the add a fuse plugged into the headlight fuse, which is a 10amp. My order came with two 20 amp fuses, do I plug both of the 20 amp fuses, which would essentially be 40 amps in place of the single 10 amp fuse, which is currently in the headlight slot, per the video, which is the same as what I have in my Tacoma.
Just ordered these and received them in horrid condition, including no instructions, cut wires, and no extra 15A fuse. This video explains almost everything that you need to know, aside from the fact that you need a 10A fuse for your headlights, AND a 15A fuse for the raptor lights installed into the add-a-fuse. Otherwise you get drive headlight, and no passenger.
Hey guys - just trying to clarify, these won’t fit with the 2022 OEM pro style grille (with the TSS square sensor below the tacoma lettering)? & if so, what’s the reasoning as to why they won’t fit?
I bought these to install on my 22 trd pro and they fit just fine! Not super tight but not loose at all and I don’t feel like they’d even come out without pushing them out from the back. We’ll see how they last.
What size fuses go into the add a fuse? I’ve heard conflicting sizes. Mine came with 2-5 amps but several videos mentioned 15 & 10 or 10 & 10. Just making sure I have the right ones. Great video
I ran in to the same problem and everyone’s using different shit so no help really. Mine came with a 5 but I removed it and put a 15 in ( per someone else’s video). But now I’m seeing videos of guys using the 5 fuse smh
I know this is months later, but I wired mine up to the fuse that turns them on as soon as I turn the truck on. You can install the add a fuse in a couple different places
@@bobeardington4044 I’m now trying to figure this out. I know where my DRL fuse is, but my problem is that as soon as I plug in it gets power even with the vehicle off.
So I’m not very good at electrical work, but I’ve seen people use different number fuses like in your case you took out one “10” fuse and put two of them back in but one was blue. What’s the blue one for? And does it matter what number I use?
They will work with the 14-19 trd Pro grille but on the newer ones toyota changed the grille design on the OEM trd Pro grille so sadly they wont mount to that grille properly.
Any ideas why mine aren’t working? Followed this video exactly and nothing. They don’t turn on with the headlights or when the truck is turned on. Ideally, I want them to turn on with headlights but not when the truck is just on. Have 1 10amp fuse in the add-a-fuse right now. Thanks for any help!
They will not, these will only work with the TRD Pro Grille. You can buy the Raptor Lights in a bundle with our TRD Pro Grille if you click the bottom link in the description!
I’m in the same boat as you, just bought my 2020 TRD Off Road three days ago but I’m not sure I want to change out my grille just to have these raptor lights but they do look cool though.

Does anybody know if these raptor lights are compatible with a 2023 TRD Pro stock grille?? I have DM’d, commented, and replied to the Tacoma Lifestyle instagram and they will not give me an answer 😩
The lights don’t fit worth a shit in the pro grill. Mine won’t snap in like yours do. Gonna end up damaging the grill trying to get them out. You guys will be giving me a refund
@@tacomacanada5740 I got them to work but I had to file down every side of the light to make the borders smaller. Kinda disappointed that tacoma world wouldn’t prorate the price due to the lack of spec but they work now so whatever. Just be aware, they will not snap in fresh from the box. At least mine wouldn’t.
