Finally, the custom rear swing-out bumper is completed! This is the last video in the three part series, where I fabricate the final components, paint the bumper, and mount the entire assembly onto the big red beast! Overall, I'm extremely happy with how the bumper turned out, and I cannot wait to give this thing a real test over the wheeling season.
What do you guys think, do you like how it turned out? Let me know in the comments!

Nice work. Tip: When working on a metric vehicle, use metric fasteners in your projects. When working on an Imperial vehicle, use imperial fasteners. A cleaner design would be to mount the license plate light onto the non-moveable bumper. Less visible wires.

Awesome work as professional welder the only thing i would done different and maybe you just didnt show this step i would have tac welded the lock pin like you did for alignment then i would drilled into from the ends and plug welded it as its hard to get a good weld on thick bar in tight space but overall you did amazing

@@S0nnenberg thank you for sharing. New to welding. Great information. Trying to pick everyone’s brain for all the information and take a stab at it.

hey seth i have the same components for my swing out. do you remember what size shoulder bolt you used for the latch side. Id like to upgrade that on mine
@S0nnenberg
@S0nnenberg 2 года назад
It’s a 3/8-16 thread bolt with a 5/8” shoulder on it!

Looks bitchin. What size tires and lift ,etc do you have on this bad boy. Definitely need a build walk-around.
@S0nnenberg
@S0nnenberg 2 года назад
A walk-around will definitely be coming soon! Currently have about a 2" lift up front, and I have Chevy 63" springs on the rear...which probably give me about 3" of lift. Tires are 35x12.5
@adams_racing367
@adams_racing367 2 года назад
@@S0nnenberg how did you get those 35s to fit? I'm running a 4in lift and I still can only fit a 33.
@S0nnenberg
@S0nnenberg 2 года назад
@@adams_racing367 To fit anything bigger than a 33 on a Tacoma you can't be afraid to get the angle grinder out! I have my fenders cut way up and the fender well tubbed. Definitely worth the work!
