I've been wrenching on vehicles all my life but learned something new from your video. Using heat shrink on hose clamps is a cool trick!

The heat shrink over the hose clamps is a great idea. The little touches always make the biggest difference.

I don’t want a stiffer ride. So I’m glad you mentioned that. I prefer a softer suspension for a daily driver.
@ChloeKuo
@ChloeKuo 3 года назад
The stiffness is expected with newer shocks, so I'll have to drive more to see if it continues. I will post a review once I've tested them out long enough

Just a little helpful tip - when using a torque wrench, the click means it's fully torqued so you shouldn't keep turning the nut once the wrench clicked. You may damage your wrench. Awesome content btw, you definitely make it very tempting to spend money I don't need to spend on my Tacoma haha

you should tighten by hand and torque once the car is back on ground to prevent any twist of the bushing.

This was the best instructional video I have ever seen in regards to vehicle stuff! I feel like everything I've ever watched in regard to lift kits, etc, videos will have really bad angles to where you can't really tell what is supposed to be done or guys will just verbalize or write in text any improvisations they have done without really explaining exactly why or how. But the angles you used to show what you were doing were awesome, it was nice to hear exactly all the tools you needed, and it was very easy to follow all of the steps. Kudos!

Nail polish works great to mark hardware. Just put a dab around the 2 mating surfaces and you can tell if the threads broke or not at a glance since nail polish is a high build paint. Cheap and any color you want.

Great vid! A little late so you might not see this but a good little tip for breaker bars is to find a steel/metal pipe with big enough circumference to slide over the breaker bar handle to add more leverage. It’ll help to loosen the nut/bolt with less effort!

You need a longer breaker bar, breaking those lug nuts could be easier with a longer bar or if you put a pipe over the existing bar. Remember work smarter not harder.

You are awesome. I've been hesitant to really do any mods to my Taco truck, but after watching your videos I think I'd rather try and upgrade as many things myself as possible. I ain't like the other taco tubers with thousands of dollars laying around to pay other people to do their upgrades.
@ChloeKuo
@ChloeKuo 3 года назад
Thanks! I like doing things myself, but it depends on the mod. I will probably get new tires done at the shop since I don't want to mess with the TPMS. But anyways, DIYing is much more fun and you learn more!

Maybe for added safety do what ChrisFix does when he jacks up a car, he puts the wheel right under the frame. Just a suggestion
@bigoneish
@bigoneish 3 года назад
That only works if the car is lower to the ground. The floor jack and jack stand is enough.
@jogmas12
@jogmas12 3 года назад
@@bigoneish no...... it works in every situation because it’s better than having the car come crashing 💥 down to the floor and possibly on you. You can never be too safe when jacking up a 3000 lb mass that you’re going to be working under. No one wants to be a pancake 🥞
@bigoneish
@bigoneish 3 года назад
@@jogmas12 not all the weight will shift to the point of the falling area. Plus if you're vehicle falls on you while you have one wheel off two proper working jack stands and the the flier jack to sustain it than I'm sorry but you deserve it.

I actually like the first position of the reservoir where it blended better with less kink on the hose. Your way with the hose higher I guess is good being further from tire.

Although installing the rubber around the clamps is a great idea, I am not a fan of hose clamps under the vehicle. Yes a must in the engine compartment but should have something in the design of a better way to complete the shock install. Great video.. girl.

A preview of the test video: Chloe: Hi, guys welcome to my channel, today we're gonna do an in depth test on my new shocks. There's a sound of static as the screen cuts to black. Silence We fade in slowly, the orange hue of sunrise across a dry desert. Stillness...peace.... Words slowly fade in over the center of our screen...Baja, MX The slow drone of a V6 engine rises from the distance. An apparition of dust grows on the distant desert horizon... (SMASH CUT) Helicopter shot of a grey Tacoma tearing across the undisturbed, now heavily disturbed, desert at 100+!! The engine pinn'd full throttle rocks us back in our seat. OK, maybe I got a little carried away.
