This is possible if you have aftermarket rims with negative offset (the wheels sticking out). I had the same experience with my Nissan Frontier.

These are stock TRD pro rims with larger wheels but as large as they're supposed to be without rubbing@@justmytwocentsdontgetmad

Damn, what's the offset on the wheels? I have 16" black rhino wheels that I'm going to mount on 265/75 /r16 and the offset is -10. Hopefully I won't have any major problems.

There isn't any offset. This is all stock for a tacoma. Most forums run this side grabbers with trd rims

It rubs if I hit a big bump turning almost full turn. maybe once every few months.Has to be a big bump or dip at this point

Doesn’t make sense. That is a average size tyre that’s fits easily on a hilux.

yea, it’s a Tacoma, not a hilux. could be different for a number of reasons. could have a front fender out of align

Yes, I ended up using a heat gun to soften the plastic and make room for the tire
