I think with the mud terrain on there it will look a bit meaner but that thing is ready to go! Just need a good bead welded on and a fresh paint job and it'll be good to go. Let me know what you think. Not that I need to ask because you will lol.

Looks good. You got it use it. It’s hard to get the spare out from under the truck if your hung up an a big rock under the back of bed and you’ve popped a bead on a tire.

How much does it rattle when off-roading? I’m a welder and looking to weld up a swing arm tire carrier! With all this free time!

The rattling will be very minimal once I weld that joint and add the anti rattle attachment. Without it it’s not so much a rattle but you do get a side to side sway. I solved it with a strap on the 4Runner but never fixed the two biggest issues that I’m going to fix this time

which lug nut size and carriage bolt do you use? The one that comes with the kit is 7/16-14 and i cannot find a lug nut with that thread pattern for the life of me.

For this one I took the lug nuts I had, went to ace hardware and got my own bolts that fit them. Then just used washers on the backside with the bolts and that’s how I bolted it on.

@@FreedomCrawler thank you! I will give that a try, i bought some lug nuts that I thought would work but the bolt to fit them would probably be too thick to fit in the tire carrier slots. do you recall which bolt size and lug nut size you used for yours?

@@xxcarlosxx16 I’m pretty sure I had some some Jeep lug nuts lying around that I used originally. You can use whatever you’d like / can find. It just helps if the wrench size is the same as the wheels on the vehicle so you don’t have to swap out sockets but that’s easy enough. Finding three matching lug nuts is super easy if you don’t have any. Marketplace, discount tire, auto parts store, local mom and pop tire shop. Then just take whatever you have to the hardware store and match it to bolts. Easy mode

Freedom Crawler same, yeah no one in the family is sick. We had something in January that kicked my *** not sure if it was the virus or not. But yeah I live in Dumont right off I-70. If you wanna wait till all this is over or when ever let me know we can get that welded up!

I think it will look better with the mud terrain but it’s far more functional than getting to it from underneath on the trail. So function over beauty?

Use it. Why leave it laying around. Keeps your bed free and plenty of room. Only people that wheels will understand the logic behind the things you do.

@@FreedomCrawler also the spare underneath can get you hung up on a rock or a pointed rock can take out your spare also. Pros and cons to everything we do. I always tell my friends my truck isnt an Instagram model and it gets used, screw trying to look pretty 😆
