Agree with your thinking on the bumper things. I've been looking at these for my Ram 1500 and wife's RAV4 and I would also put the bumpers on the deflector, not the hood itself.

I had one installed on my 2000 Tundra when it was brand new. The deflector have since cracked and trashed but... the 3M adhesive is still stuck on my hood. It even took some paint off. I would never use adhesive ever again .

Picked up my bed mat yesterday. For the new Tacoma. Bug shield sitting in the garage just waiting for me... Definitely worth the money. In the past my has saved me dozens of times. Glove box organizer 10 stop's away... Thanks from the wife, Mrs. Platinum lol$$$

Looks great with your Voodoo Blue Rob. I'm just not ready to place it on my hood because of a bad experience in the past. If I lived in your area, I wouldn't hesitate. Changing subject... Received and installed my Spotter mirrors today. I learned a few days ago they recently released mirrors that have the BSM and heat connections. Easy install. I'm very pleased with the look and functionality. Keep up the great videos!

I have the same one. If you haven’t noticed yet, the air flow goes above the hood so if there’s any water on you hood, it stays there and doesn’t move. Also I used some adhesive weather stripping to prevent the vibration and squeaking it makes, try it out. If you shake it a little, it squeaks a bit.

I found your channel to fit my weathertech in track window deflectors for my 21, which in that video you had the 21, seems you like to get the new year each year lol. But I was wondering about the bug guard for the hood and would you look at that... you're giving a live review lol, my window guards went in flawless, thanks for making these videos, made it less painful having to bend them into the channel. Had I NOT SEEN your video, I'd sworn I'd gotten the wrong ones lol

Good thing you installed it. Just getting on the expressway here and dodging stones is brutal. This at least gives you a little more protection for the Taco. Have had no issues with mine whatsoever.

I like the look, even if they don't do much. Texas windshield- cracks and chips. I've replaced sooooo many windshields. I'm getting good at using a home repair kit.

Thanks for the recap, Rob. It looks great. I just ordered the AVS version for my white 2019 TRD (not the stick-on version). This truck is still my pavement princess, so no way am I’m sticking anything to the paint! FYI - I still have the original bug deflector on my 2001 Chevy 2500 and, knock on wood, zero noticeable windshield chips or cracks in 19 years and 110,000 miles.

LOL, I think if those things provided any protection to your windshield, auto manufacturers would be increasing the height of the leading edge of their hoods and market chip-less windshield vehicles. Also, I couldn't help but notice that WeatherTech made no windshield protection claim on their website. Only hood protection. Now if you just like the dang thing, then I do too. It's just not for me or my truck.

That looks pretty much like the AVS one I put on my truck the day I brought it home. Had one on my Jeep Liberty too for over 10 years and never had to replace the windshield on that.

i like it i never had one on my trucks yet but i do drive a lot in the country here and always getting bugs on the windshield. i carry glass cleaner and microfiber towels with me. I got my new headlight today gonna do the install this weekend. i'm debating removing the grill or not it can be done without removing it

How about the bugs Robert? Do you have less bugs smashed on your windshield while traveling long distance? Sometimes I get so many bugs on the way to the coast of Texas, that I have to pull to a gas station to clean it up. I wonder how effective they are for the bugs. 🤔
