While back I saw some pictures of the statue of liberty and ellis island from a boat in the 1920s. The water level at the base was still the same as it is today so I don't think global warming is putting the east coast under water as fast as they say it is.

The weight of the ice is already displaced in the water so when ice melts its impossible to raise the water level ha I know I've explained it like a retard but look into it if you put ice in a glass then fill it to the brim with water and come back to it after the ice melts the glass wont over flow it will still be just at the brim ha

And the 1900s and 1920s were the best time for it, if you knew what you were doing. Gold coins were still being used and with that you could've started slowly building an empire. And the depression wouldn't even affect you because you're so rich.. also the modern world isn't great with how over populated it is, and because of that there's no opportunity whatsoever. Everything is expensive that the low class don't even want to work anymore, so they use violence to get what they want. Incredible that the architecture such as the Flatiron building was built without the modern equipment available today and is still standing. The detail in the concrete around the face of the building is amazing. Not quite as amazing as some of the structures that were built in the 1600's in Europe like the massive cathedrals, castles etc. that are still standing but stunning nonetheless.

Being actually 'obese' in the strict medical definition as opposed to just 'overweight' was rarer a couple decades ago, but there was plenty of fat fucks doing their best to get where they are today and making sure the next generation will continue in their thunderous footsteps. A good sized percentage of today's women just don't care how much fat they pack on because the media tells them it's okay to be a slob. The hygiene back then must have been non-existent. Wearing suits and long dresses in the summer when it was 95 and humid must have been awful. Can't imagine how awful it must have been to be in close quarters with a lot of people on a train in the summer. Speaking of which, most of the subway trains in London still don't have a/c. I was there for work a few years ago and I was surprised to learn this upon getting on the train. It smelled like a petting zoo and this was in May. Not even in the heat of summer. Can't imagine what that must have been like in the summer, especially in the early 1900's. I guess people just adapted and eventually invented AC, which then led to most manufacturing in the US moving south.

The people die at 40 thing is a myth. If you made out of childhood, you had a decent chance of making to around 60 and some wealthier people who could retire from any kind labor intensive work and lived in clean conditions could live to their 90's. There are films from the 1920's and even early 1930's of Civil War veterans and many of these men were in their 80's and 90's by then. The 1st Emperor of Rome Augustus lived till 75 his successor Tiberius lived to 77 while both John Adams and Thomas Jefferson both died on July 4th, 1826, the 50th Anniversary of America at ages 90 and 83.
