Ant and Dave suffer through the trailer for a Drew movie starring superstars Drew Barrymore and... Jan.27, 2021 TACS ep.1144 The Anthony Cumia Show compoundmedia.com
The tragic thing is that the idea itself is pretty good. The premise of a celeb using a stand in for rehab could actually be great in the right hands- but Hollywood ALWAYS completely ruins any interesting concept
Amy Whinehouse levels of rehab-jail over would be funny, her family were legit weird, the fathers daughter was dying and the father couldn't care less he just loved being a celeb at Karoke parties like cumia as his daughter was drinking herself to death hourly
HEY DAVE..."Call Anthony". HEY ANT..."Say, you're sorry and welcome back!" The world needs this level of comedic perfection again. BTW Tom Sellek endorses the above.
Just to very obviously break that down, with movie tickets being basically 15$ per, that means only 6,666.666666 people ON EARTH decided they should go see it
If someone wanted to abduct Cumia to torture him they’d make him watch this Barrymore movie followed by Sandler’s Sandy Wexler and if he hasn’t slit his throat yet play Club Piscopo to finish the job
I noticed in the trailer that this was written by Sam Bain, one of the guys who wrote the British TV show 'Peep Show', so it actually might be pretty good 🤔
1:38 Here comes a joke… (Music stops) … and the punchline follows… (music comes back on). Who’s are the 80yo Yiddish producers who think that’s still funny almost 2 decades later?
Oh, so the phony "stand in" character in the movie is going to REHAB for the movie star character, and the movie is not going the logically more hilarious route and having the stand-in posing as the actress on set...wow, that makes it even worse. Plus, that's really kinda telling: makes you think of whether Drew was really genuine or "acting" when she actually went to rehab when she was younger. I'm calling it now: 6:40 is the scene in the movie where the secret gets out and everyone finds out that they're faking the whole thing, a paparazzo takes a photo of them in public, and now they have to deal with lying to everybody and only the real friends are the ones who stick around. Also, hey....looks like TJ Miller's using this as a vehicle of his own to rehabilitate his reputation.
Another 'double trouble' film - 'twice the fun!' accordingly, every sentence in the promotion junket will feature twin related cliches and tropes. So sticking with the doubling, my review of this 'multi masterpiece' is - 'shit shit.'
