The double subs made by Carlo in bringing in Modric and Diaz completely changed the course of the game..Modric brought in that calmness and more composure as he wasnt rushing his passes but uses space wherever its available..it was difficult for Madrid to connect passes as the gap between players were so wide but Modric coming glued the team together.. Watching City this season, one can clearly feel the absence of Mahrez and Gundogan..now down to the absence of Walker, it shows how important he is to the rest defense of City..his pace and recovery helps City in transitions just like he does when balling for England..watched the replay like 5 times since yesterday..thats how good the game was lol..cant wait for the return leg
@@nnamdiphilip9944lol why are you so focused on that 4-0? the first leg was draw tho and Madrid looked much more sharper than city was. The 4-0 was tactical error by Ancelloti and Benzema was healing from fresh injury. Madrid played Benzema but benzema was absent throughout the game. City is lucky Madrid didnt hv Alaba, fresh and performed Militao, and Courtois. So, I’ll give the benefit of the doubt.
@@igatmatthew2283 Yes,and it's because they don't have a proper DM like Casemiro. We have Tchouameni but still can't be a destroyer type to break city tempo
I know it was reported that Kdb fell ill just before the game but I think that is more of a diversion tactic by Pep. Pep knows how quick Madrid's transitions are. So, perhaps, he opted for a more conservative player in Kovacic as opposed to a direct player like Kdb. There are 2 main reasons why I say this: First, Walker was not playing. This means that City were lacking pace in their defence to deal with Madrid's lethal counter attacks. Kdb is a direct midfielder that likes to take risks with through balls to Haaland or lobbed crosses. Madrid would have expected that and most likely had prepared for that. So, without Walker to mitigate those risks, Pep decided to go with Kovacic who is more conservative with his passes. Second reason as to why I think Pep decided to play Kovacic instead of KDB was because of Haaland. Pep had a different role for Haaland in this game. Pep wanted Haaland to act as a decoy or diversion by pre-occupying Madrid's CBs thus creating space for other City players to get into goal scoring positions. Had KDB played, then he would have been looking for Haaland with those crosses or through balls and I know Madrid had prepped well for that. Pep was trying to be cautious in this 1st leg. Now, for the 2nd leg, KDB will play. Since the 1st leg ended in a draw, City will need to be more attacking. Walker will be back, meaning City will have pace in their defence to handle those risks. It's amazing how football is a wholesome game. The loss of one player affects the other. In this case, since Walker was not playing, Pep saw how playing Kdb would bring risks in transitions to City's defensive lines. My 2 cents.
@@lexkanyima2195 Foden is more lethal when he is playing upfront near the goal. Playing Foden further away from goal will surely not be beneficial to City. Also, given Foden's current form, the best position to play him is upfront in attack. As for KDB playing a free role, that would mean playing him as a false 9. False 9 requires a highly mobile player that is blessed with excellent technical skills to operate in tight spaces. Most teams like to congest the centre when playing against City. Kdb is at his best when he has space to operate. Lets look at City's past players who were excellent in operating in tight spaces. A player like David Silva was one of them. David silva was highly gifted with technical abilities especially at his prime. So, Pep chose to play him in those tight spaces because David silva had the ability to operate in tight spaces. Kdb is different. Kdb requires space to run and carry the ball.
Bullshit Man city is kevin de bruyne team, he will start in any case if he is fit. De bruyne would have rip apart the space in that game if he was there. Fear factor of kdb is more than any player to be real, u will see at next leg.
Flexible and fluid system as he gives the players the freedom to play to their strength but mind you, any decent manager can do an amazing job with this super team of Madrid..give it to Nagelsmann or Alonso and see how they are gonna destroy teams
nothing special lol its just what happened in the game. you are prolly too blind to see it during live match.. most people dont know how to watch live football in tactical view they just see who got the ball who dribble who scores.. when i watch football i look at the team shape off ball movement all that stuff.. not just the ball carrier
@@akramaouaiss2455 No, a normal person would enjoy the beautiful game and afterwards if needed watch a replay for a tactical analysis. All the shit you're spouting is just you trying to be quirky.
@@anonymousbanana204 yeah enjoy the match instead of seeing what actually happen in the match, thats why you see so many people posted stupid opinions about the game on social media because they dont really watch football properly they just enjoy. I enjoy watching the match because of tactics, not because its beautiful game or what ever. It become more beautiful when you truly understand whats really happening on the pitch team wise not individual. Football is a team game, most people just watch their favourite player and praise him to the moon.
I think Camavinga and Jude being on a yellow is an underrated part of the game. They were very shy in challenges they usually are comfortable to make and that decided parts of the game. Jude was frustrated all game and should have come off. Vini for Brahim, Kroos for Modric, Jude for Joselu
@@ifldiscovery8500 Bellingham is ridiculously average and Tuesday's match showed that. He hasn't got the ability to slow the game down and dictate the tempo like Modric. I can't see him lasting for long at Madrid. He really looked like he didn't belong out there
@@BubblesChikaMbappe got completely shut down by Barcelona in the first leg of their Matchup. my nigga had a rough match yes but you hatin for no reason boy got the craziest potential @ he still 20yo. He will become a true madrilista
@mutenroshi3078 Yes, Mbappe isn't that good, kid. These are the types of games players are supposed to step up and show their ability. Bellingham didn't do that because he's not that good
the problem started for madrid when they sat in the low block, and we all know they are not so well drilled for that purpose leading to city having a upperhand as they face a low block week in and week out
At Etihad they need to seat deep and play a game of transition and city are so good at this it's only city who can decide who will win. If they drop masterclass like last season then it will be over for madrid but it's madrid you never know
@@KaweesaTanansiactually this season, City latelly has been facing some hardships, but in Ettihad things get a lot more complicated for other teams. I think City's gonna win for 2 or 3 goals.
Problem started at not being clinical! It was 2-1 and there was some oppurtunities to kill them, make it 3-1 atleast but didnt happen! And then they took momentum back go for the 2-2 and they did!
the problem was when real switched off after taking the lead 2-1 which lead to the 2 goals by city, they didnot realise it was the perfect moment to demolish city walker was absent city was misrable in defending the counter attacks could have been a big victory but instead ancelotti shot himself in the foot, now we have difficult task in the away leg
People didnt realize, Carlo 1st time put BOTH Vini & Rodrygo in left flank. Noone would be able to stop them together in transition. Its up to Jude and Valverde to find the gap in center and right to get the goals. Key is press before getting pressed, lesson learned from 4-0 loss last season.
Real Madrid did stupid mistakes but i think it's more due to the players' inexperience. These young lads will grow to totally dominate world football with Mbappe joining next season
@@salmanrafat7820 city can always improve on the market and players like Gvardiol, Foden, Haaland, Dias etc are 25 and younger, if they get away with the charges and keep Pep they’ll be there every season
@gabrielmuniz64 city declined massively from last season. KDB, silva ,walker is ageing. Its time for rebuild. Holland is clueless without KDB in the field. Not sure how long pep will continue. Its way longer than his previous expenditures already
@@salmanrafat7820Manchester City will decline in your dreams. Every football club needs good manager to flourish, take the example of real Madrid City Liverpool Bayer Leverkusen etc Until and unless the manager is clueless, the club is never in declined mode. City has always improved since last decade, it's just the beginning of their domination
Ancelotti executed his plan well and was let down by the finishing. Vini being explosive and carefree, he will be key to Realmadrid winning at Etihad for the first time
Surprised to see Bellingham upfront against city instead of assuming his usual wide midfielder/10 hybrid role which allows him to make his trademark late runs into the box from deep to score. He looked isolated mostly.
Pep is a genius because he gives his players a complete instruction on how to beat the opponent. But Ancelotti is a genius also because he enters the mind of every individual player and gives them the confidence and personality to beat the opponent, which is as difficult as well. Respect to both
You mean madrid had a plan of deflecting goals? According to my opinion, Man city had a bad luck yesterday to get deflections and KDB illness before kick-off. Anyway a goal is a goal
Stupid argument cause I could say the same for pep. So his plan was to score a bunch of outside the box goals? If the deflections didn’t go in Madrid still would’ve scored one way or another because they would keep attacking instead of sitting back later on in the game
What about the first goal it was a clear gift by inexperienced Gk ..don’t forget about maybe 4 big chances misses..be sure they will not miss more at ethad ..both teams will score but who will score more ..Mc is very-good and nearly unbeatable at ithad but if there is a team to change this is Real madrid..they will be more dangerous in the second leg
We also had a very inexperienced gk, madrid could have won if they converted their chances, but luck would go towards city, but you can say what you want.
City would probably have won with De Bruyne playing, as he would be critical in chance creation with his vision and passing. Despite the 3 goals, Real's defence appeared really solid to the point that screamers from Foden and Gvardiol are what made the difference. I think this shows just how crucial KDB is to Guardiola's masterpiece in city.
Perfect tactics by Guardiola. Only for luck Madrid were getting thrashed at their home ground. City have the upper hand. Gundogan ( aswell as Mahrez) is a big loss but still , they have enough to beat Madrid comfortably. But it will have to be a great performance. Even in the last years SF 2nd leg only for Kross hitting the cross bar it might have turned into a diff game.
Kdb couldn't play since we luck walker to control the lethal attacks of madrid, kdb is more direct but we needed kovacic to hold the ball in possession as well as rodri, kdb will play in the sec leg wen walker is back and then expect a goal thriller, city 5-0 RMA correct score
If KDB had played, Kovacic wouldn't have played. That means City would've been even worse in defence. Not something you want to see while playing away from home.
@@KaweesaTanansihaha what a fckn joke. City couldnt even penetrate Madrid solid defensive line. You will hv to beg for another lucky screamer from outside of D box shootings to produce goals
@@Gantaipao We were the better team in the second half, but for most of the first half Madrid were extremely dangerous on counter attacks, and Vini Jr missed at least two good chances

Madrid's 2nd goal was just class. Vini just pokes it past the gk😭 I think City has the advantage in the 2nd leg. It won't be one sided like last season, but they can definitely get the result. I will be expecting Carlo to encourage Madrid to be more defensive and drag the game out to extra time or even penalties.

Pep put him on bench ,because he was afraid of madrids counter. So he opted kovacis. If KDB and foden both plays , city will be more vulnerable to counter.
@@salmanrafat7820I get your point but it was reported that Kdb fell ill just before the game. However, tactically speaking, I see sense in what you wrote. Kdb is a direct midfielder that likes to drive the ball forward from deep. This also means that it creates more risks to City in cases where he loses the ball. Given how Madrid are quick in transitions, I do understand why Pep would decide to play Kovacic instead. Especially this being the 1st leg at the Bernabeu, Pep would have chosen to be more conservative, hence play Kovacic. For the second leg, I'm pretty sure Pep's game plan would be more of attacking since Walker will be back meaning City have someone with pace to mitigate Madrid's counter attacks. Also, with Walker back, Pep would be more comfortable playing Kdb because Walker's pace will help in covering for lost balls and dribble attempts. So, yeah, I get your point.
lets face reality it high time a team like madrid still play this style of football aganist better well drilled opponent its time for change of manager madrid has to evolve from been a player ability team to a more organized team like what we have in alonso bayernlevekusen
Being a man city fan I can say that man city goalkeeping was the only fault in their gameplay , 2nd goal from Rodrgyo was not a deserving goal , Man city didn't try to get in the box their goal was to try long shots and they did pretty good in that.
The majority of madrid's attacks came from City mistakes rather than anything else. Rodri was the worst offender. Without those mistakes in giving the ball away, madrid would have been kept well away from city's goal for the most part at least until Modric was introduced.
Pep has now seen that what are the threats that Madrid can poise to City, he will build tactics purely on this. Madrid tactics is gonna be same in second leg whereas City has a lot to look out. Without kdb and Walker and ake we nearly defeated them at home with no rest
It will be a loooong night at Manchester And Real Madrid has all the tools to go through against any team at any stadium..it will be a hell game MC is a great team and only team that scare me but real Madrid always find a way in his favourite competition ..
The Madrid transitions are unstoppable if they are well performed as in the first leg, Guardiola can do nothing about it, it’s up to city’s attack to score as much as they can
No analysis video on PSG vs Barca is kinda dissapointing. Two Spanish tactician head to head, former player and his coach vs'ing each other. So many in game tweaks were made esp after xavi completely outclassed Lucho in the first half. This was a good video though.
If I am being honest This game was a lost to Real Madrid. They didn’t capitalize the chances they had when they was 2-1. Going to Manchester isn’t no easy task.
Ancelotti tactics rating could have been a nine if courtois played, all of Man Citys goals came from outside the box I just felt the great positioning and shot stopping ability of courtois could have helped even though lunin is in form courtois is just better.
It can look like 442 but rodrygo wasn't pressing so it was a 433, that is why they have space to shot from outside. But if they put the 442 with rodrygo helping to defend silva and foden we have chance to not let them shot from outside, especially now that they recover de bruyne
Lots of possession by city but did not creat clear goal scoring chances. It took two worldly strike from outside the box for city to score. Real definitely created more chances despite having less possession.
First time i see a video that give a credit for ancelotty because he was very good and but his players missed very easy big chances…In my opinion with less Madrid fans pressure from the crowd real Madrid could kill man-city at ethad next week..I hope for more modric time because he can easily walk with a ball under any pressure and usually looking for a key passing or shooting even he keep our possession very calmly even better than Bellingham.. the hard question is the timing of make this sup..in the starting formation or after..thanx I enjoy this great and true analysis
Real Madrid failed to win at their own stadium. The advantage now is definitely with MC playing the deciding second match at their Etihad Stadium. Yes the odds are with MC to advance to the semi-finals and play against either Arsenal or Bayern Munich. But .... Real Madrid being Real Madrid they are the one team who can put it all together and eliminate their rival MC and possibly go all the way to win their 15th CL silver trophy. These 2 teams are the best of the 8 quarter-finalists and even though the odds are with MC a smart football fan should never write off super Real Madrid. I have a good feeling that RM is going to surprise a lot of people next Wednesday. They are going to eliminate MC. Just wait and see.

i thought u not gonna do this after u alr did Arsena Bayern analysis haha quite on point, anw was surprised to see City scoring goals we rarely see in PL - Foden we may have seen before but Bernado FK or Gvardiol ZD, screamers!
There's absolutely no reason to give Ancelotti a 7 and Pep 5 when it was Man CIty who scored 3 away from home with some of their key players missing and having Bernabeu's roof closed too.
The problem with real is that they're forwards particularly vinicius was not clinical. They're game plan on transition nearly worked to their favour, unfortunately due to a lack of precision it gave city psychological hope of making a comeback which they did. Clinical finishing were one of the components Zidane used to win the unprecedented treble. He selected players especially on the front line who were not just good at playing ball and making good runs (like vini amd rodrygo), but were also lethal in front of goal.(CR7, asensio, vazquez, benzema).
Part of this is also the fact that real played much more reserved in the second half and only started attacking once they went down. I think if they had that energy and spark throughout the whole second half they would’ve scored at least 1 more
How do you understand tactics please tell me I try everything but still don't understand what happens tactically I see all matches but still also Joško Gvardiol did invert which led to a city goal he didn't tell anything about that
Pep won again there Pulling out a draw with possession is all pep wants from bernabue and he gets that. Kdb illness could have been so worse cuz he is the only player after messi whose performance doesnt get influenced by how great front team is. + Without walker the best guy to pocket left wingers is already huge disadvantage
Awesome video dude! This game was incredible to watch just bc of how intense it went with every goal being scored. I feel Madrid could’ve won if they played more aggressively due to City playing super conservative with Kevin bench and walker out. It felt like the game against Inter and Liverpool. Next we will see if Pep plays all his best cards on the field or will Carlo play more in a tactic to control possession and disrupt a broken wall city has when it comes to defense. 🎉❤ Prediction Madrid, Barcelona, Atlético pass. Final Madrid vs Barcelona.
Adding of that real madrid change the game in the second half to keep the 2-1score or near that and keep the most offensive at etthad ..unfortunately they accept goals from outside the box or they can keep the score and add maybe 1 or2 by transitions..anyway the draw is just promise of a hell game at Manchester..Real Madrid can attack more because its the true decisive game..also mancity will trying to make more pressure and no problem risky game because it will be u score I score till the final whistle…hoping Madrid attackers be more clinical because the chances will be higher than the first leg… (personal opinion)
I think Haaland choosing Rudiger was all part of Pep's plan to occupy the more natural center and leave loads of attacking threats for the make shift center back to deal with
Now I feel relieved that city has 80% win possibility at second leg Etihad. Madrid and Ancelotti are in for a football masterclass next week😊. This match just showed how confident and tactically superior pep is compared to Ancelotti. Also real should replace Ancelotti soon he's not the coach who can build a team like Mourinho , pep or klopp . Ancelotti doesnt seems to understand what his team lacks and how he can make up for it. This first leg was like lady luck was stuck in him. Somehow Valverde pulled off a brilliant volley to avoid any embarrassing loss. Also real wasn't that good at transition too they had really good chances again city defence really did well even with Walker out injured . City midfield dominated real considering the amount of talented players madrid has. I saw more of a team work from city compared to madrid. Dude you should work on your analysis on better Carlo only deserved 4 he was outclassed tactically and pep deserved 7 becoz his side took lead 2 times and dominated the home team. Most of all pep took a gamble with akanji in left I mean he made mistakes but he did well agaisnt vini and Rodrygo. Again dude do your analysis properly sugarcoating madrid won't do you any good.😂 Ofc you can satisfy madrid sympathizer but that reality is madrid failed to secure an advantage at home match. Now Barca is rising and finding their feet well. Pretty soon they're gonna dominate and madrid can kiss their europe domination goodbye😂
Behave yourself you never won there and city had played 2 games and you rested a week they missed 4 key players and you couldn't beat them at your own ..be realistic and stop delusional 😅
Kovac is avg player. The dude was so uncomfortable on the ball Stones had to do more work. What a clown 🤡 He literally received 5 times or more where a Good AM player would have place a ball to his ST. But he ends up giving to side or Rodri. Such awful display cause City attacking. City were shoting their own foot by conceding two stupid goal also. Madrid only relied on mistake and Wingers pace. So called "Closing the roof to make the atmosphere to their side, In actual City away fans were making more noise". Pfff...
In the first half, Real pretty much gave their right side to Grealish, but this was not capitalized. Real looked dangerous on counters and the reverse fixture could be as that old Manu/Beckham bandage/Ronaldo hattrick match. I dont think Real can do much better than they did, but City absolutely can do better. And they better by at least 2 goals
