Watched this great video last week. With my mate's help made something very close to this in his workshop. Very happy with it so thanks for the idea and showing how to do it BIG like and sub
Wow Richard you stirred up quite a list of comments. Lol. When did it get so a man couldn't build what he wanted ,when he wanted , in his on shop. I think it's superb , keep on keeping on brother. I think I will build one for myself.
good job as always this is me and my dad he is the older one he is 97 on the 20th of march tony worked until he was 74 and he only slept 4 hr a day he was a very hard worker he doesn't know who I am but that's ok I know him soon he will be with his farther .
Good luck with that buddy... Been there and did that.. Sometimes they remember, but, can't respond like they do.. Life is one big diaper cycle.. Someone is changing yours, then, you change them for someone else, and they change them for you.. I know my Dad still knew who we were. I could see it in his eyes.. He just lost the ability to communicate.. But, they still hear and know.. Like a baby learning language in reverse.. Know the words, but, can't say them.. Don't know if that is your case or not, but, maybe you can relate.. God Bless..
Nice Job Richard... Pretty cool looking tool... I made a small one blacksmithing for my Ice Tray when it gets all frozen together.. It makes way more ice than I ever use.. I took a 1/4" piece of round stock, hand tapered the end, twisted the rest and then tacked a nut on the end and rounded it, so I could use my palm to back it up when chipping.. A little baby compared to yours.. Those were some great ideas.. Turned out looking sweet.. I'm sure your Customer was quite surprised and giddy waiting for the package to arrive..Ha..Ha.. You are becoming quite the Celebrity... I'm still looking for more time to mess with my setup.. But, I build stuff in my mind all of the time.. 5 minutes here and 5 there.. I think you made a good choice.. With the melting and sandcasting,,,, the Mill and Lathe was the next step.. Keep up the good work.. 13K subscribers.. I'd say you are doing well... Kudos my friend...
Thanks Mark, 10 more subs will put me at 14k :) I dont know about celebrity but the channel has brought in some work so am happy about that. The customer just wanted something custom made by me....I thought that was kinda cool since you can get ice picks at the dollar store cheap....even yold the customer that but he wanted a one of a kind. He wanted the back flat so it wouldnt hurt his hand....it was the only spec he gave me aside from stainless shaft. I love the lathework...wish I had more 😊 ~ Richard
Very good knurl! I bet it was inexpensive, too! lol Cheap was not a word I could use in good conscience!! You must do a lot of anodizing. Very enjoyable video. You are almost as quite as MYFORDBOY! LOL
That knurling tool works so much better than all the 3 wheeled ones I ever used ! Seeing you pick through the scrap and leavings is what I am all about. Nice job and a tool that can do a bunch of things. This was a bunch of fun for me fella. I hope it was for you ! Careful not to anodise yer fingers bud, LOL ! Nice touch with the brass bud !
Ha.. Maybe your Customer was wanting to get the jump on things... Sell it on ebay for big bucks,,, when you become famous..Ha..Ha.. He has an Icepick and a video to boot of you making it??? Ha..Ha.. Just think about what that would be worth,, if someone had a video of and a painting done by VanGo (or whatever his name is..Ha.)... I didn't think about that..Ha.. Maybe we ALL need to get you building something for ALL of us.. Ha.. Hey.. You never know!!! What do you guys think?? :) Cheers Richard..
Ha!, yep...people can go buy a few thou worth of equipment and follow the video and make their own 👍🏼 Always a pleasure Mark, drop by anytime ~ Richard
