@@Morgamania2 thank you very much! Is there a way that I can buy the adapter itself? I looked very closely at the one I have and the RCA jack has the wrong amount of rings on it. The one you linked me to has the correct amount of rings. I believe the jack is where I’m having my issue of not being able to flash my chrome ECU.
Are the settings in evoscan different for a first gen/non-OBDII car? I've been trying to datalog my 1992 stealth TT but the engine coolant sensor seems incorrect. It starts at 61 on a cold start and settles to 21-22 when it's up to temp. Also, where in the exhaust should the wideband o2 sensor go? and do the precats affect it?
Gonna be the same 1st or 2nd gen car in EvoScan. (Same for a 3rd gen too.) That is odd about your coolant sensor for sure. The wideband goes before the main cat and like a 45 degree angle downward so condensation doesn't settle on it. They give you all those details in the instructions it comes with.
Great breakdown of the process! Why take 15% off on the injector scaling? So, if I am running 560cc injectors, I need to input 476 in the injector scaling box? Is that because Evoscan inflates the numbers it reports?
It's the same process. The main thing is you'll need to get your hands on the XML definition file for that ROM so ECU Flash will know how to display it for you.
oh this is great..he's even got the exact wideband gauge in my yellow 3000gt lol. Here trying to learn how to tune because so few people in my area are even willing to try tuning the build i have..i know i shot you guys a few messages to get it tuned..But i also want to be able to do it myself...
Hopefully this can help a bit. As have so many remote ECUFlash and EvoScan clients on the 3000GT and Evos this is a good way to drop the knowledge before we get started on a remote session. Saves time and money. :)
@@Morgamania2 Looking forward to learning a bit myself. I know atleast doing fel tables and the data-logging process and some basic knowledge of doing ignition timing..Now doing more on the drivability side is where i'm the weakest..and understanding what datalogs are trying to tell me lol.
For the EVO guys you probably can simply use the 0-5v Analog input from the rear O2 sensor, disable it in EVOScan then assign it as a logging value with the spec from your manufacturer, DSM guys do it all the time and i was looking into EVOScan and you can as well
Nice. Getting this physically set up on the 3K was challenging. 91-99 harness and ECU swap, then I had to figure out and map the pinouts between the ECUs and harness. I created my own flash adapter (OBD1 to OBD2) because it was the cheapest option at $22 bucks. I’ve not even started the project yet because there are still scores of aftermarket electronics, entertainment systems, and other features that need to be taken into consideration… nice video
To an extent. I have a 3G Eclipse and the logging and flashing process is the same. Only what is available on the 3G Eclipse to tune with is very limited.
To use Mode 23 there are 3 checkboxes you must click and set to 'Enabled' in ECUFlash. They are listed under Misc - Mode 23 - IFMode 0x05->0x23 #1, Mode 23 - IFMode 0x05 -> 0x23 #2, and Mode 23 - DoMode 0x4D -> 0x5D. Flash the update to your ECU. Then Mode 23 will be available for you to use in EvoScan. If you're on a Tephra mod you can use RAX which is the fastest and imo best logging mode for Evo.
I'll give my tactrix and mitsubishi cable ago tomorrow, then I need to read all sensors as the car has been running rough at random times. I have replaced every sensor besides the crank angle and ignition sensor.
Typically users have trouble the other way around. They are able to log but have trouble flashing. Be sure you have selected the OpenPort 2.0 cable in the upper left as well as the checkbox for your application (if it's a 3000GT select the Mitsubishi MUTIII.) From the dropdown for Select ECU choose EFI. Hopefully this is helpful for you. If not, let me know.
@@Morgamania2 it’s a Usdm evo 8 have everything selected according to my tuner(chag) mutiii efi my wideband isn’t even logging I downloaded drivers etc and I still get nothing
@michaelhorning48 Okay, I'm going to go back and double check. But if memory serves me right with the 8s you have to use the Tactrix 1.3 cable for datalogging. The 2.0 is fine to read and flash but it's kinda dumb but you need the 1.3 to datalog.
@@Morgamania2 my wideband isn’t showing up either have it set to comport 3 properly grounded and everything updated drivers for the serial to usb and nothing
@michaelhorning48 Indeed the AFRs should be showing up regardless as they are not going through the Tactrix. Double check the COM port and make sure you have selected your AFR gauge from the drop down. Next try everything with someone else's computer.
