I experienced "Ando Concept" while in Naoshima, Japan, this fall. Grand, yet, down-to-earth, confident and positive, yet, friendly and open to every idea and to everyone, Great Talent Ando-san! Stay well, and stay shine! Thank you for posting; enjoyed very much....
9:31 That house is terrible in many ways, and illegal (not compliant with codes, at least in the US) in so many ways. He was lucky to be able to get that house built in Japan. Nevertheless, I admire the story of his life.
@@vplph At least the codes prevent architects to do whatever they want. The codes put requirements to protect the health, safety, and comfort of the occupants. That house does not comply with any of those requirements. It is terrible. No Railings to prevent an accident. No insulation. No windows to the exterior. No protection from the rain over the stairs. All of those things would be forbidden here in the US. Tadao Ando learned and improved a lot after those first houses. But is important to tell the difference between his bad and his good works.
