Lol, so do I. It seems some people around had it in favorite list. I have it since 2010, but the first time I watched this video, it was nearly in 2008 in a Cyber Cafe. I love to watche my favorite list every now and then, like 4 years, when I have nothing to do in RU-vid.

Bruce was so dedicated he deveopled philisophical approach to it. He understood how the body acts in a fight, complete knowledge of one's anatomy. I've talked to masters all opinions state that he was one of the best, a person who is truely dedicated his life to the art.

Techniques...skill...practice...etc is all well worth the effort. But the best thing in your arsenal along with all of this...is the element of surprise! An attacker does not know what you are capable of doing. A tiger will play or toy with a bowling ball or a piece of tree trunk, honing his hunting skills. When the time comes and he needs to use it it is fast and quick. It is very amazing to see the speed of a 500 lb tiger.

im a 2nd dan blackbelt. I've always been taught to not use my taekwondo as i please. It was used to get me out of combat situations and we were always taught not to lose our tempers. This sport seriously is a disciplinary sport. I started when I was 11 and now im 17. It wasnt the first time I knocked the living daylight out of other people but one day, I was humbled by my 4th-dan friend who whooped my butt. He is now attending college with me and is my roommate! :D He taught me so much!

No man, boxing is actually very effective in real fights, boxers are used to taking punches, bleeding, their bodies are very well-conditioned. It's not just a sport, it really works, it doesn't work against MMA fighters for obvious reasons, but as a self-defense, boxing is great.

The best thing is to have nothing. No styles. Styles only make u think another way. But without thinking there is only one way and that is the only way finally for all of us. Like bruce lee said: Fighting without fighting. When i punch, im gonna punch. Thats the key that millions of people dont understand. Bruce did. And he as i also became a controlled animal in figthing. Use your reflexes, Use your insticts, use your whole body in everything u do and dont think. That is the true way of warrior

Sparring is sort of like a very controlled fight. Both opponents put on safety gear and 'fight' back and forth while a referee or referees watch. Points are scored based on where your strikes make contact (in other words, you aren't trying to hurt the other person, just score hits) This is the competition or sport side of taekwondo. It doesn't teach you much about real-world fighting because it is safe, and there are rules (i.e. no face shots, some moves not allowed, etc)
@bassmooney
@bassmooney 12 лет назад
Maybe back in the 1950's when everyone knew boxing. This day in age you have multiple arts at work, from different parts of the world. Its just not enough. Its a start so you won't get pummeled. But you will lose and will get hurt, unless lady luck is on your side. I don't like to depend on that , I like to know I can win. So I try what works. I myself have fought multiple opponents on the street and won with my good friend TDK.

Im mean there's one thing being a Norris fan and reconizing a better fighter. He is not only fast but strong, demostrating and introducing the 1 inch punch. He has performed in front of martial art councils and all were amazed. no one i samazed at texas walker only the fact that it stayed on the air for so long.

Yes i know! it's good to see people actually agree with me. in korea. people are expected to be experts at taekwondo. they don't acknowledge people by degrees of their black belts, they just refer to them as JUST black belts..... that says something about how much better koreans are.
@JJLHRD
@JJLHRD 15 лет назад
you should do hwa rang do, its a combination of judo,bjj,aikido,and tkd. It does cranking,bone breaking,bone twisting,pressure points,ground fighting,submissions, and throws, and stand-up bone breaking moves. You should try hwarangdo.

Been in TKD since i was three, and i gotta say......it is one of my most favortite and effective martial arts for me. Plus with my training, i actually seen and now know techniques that other people can't see. Plus, for you guys who say that TKD is ineffective, no disrespect, but you only say that because you can't use it.

I want to be 20 again, no, make that 10, so I have 10 years to practice before I can think about this stuff. But seriously, even if our kicks and sparring doesn't look as good as these, we all share the love for the sport and get equally excited - if we break one board nicely, or a dozen with a power kick. or you finally managed to land a spin-hook on your opponents head.

TKD, like some other traditional martial arts, has a longer learning curve to become applicable in reality. But then again, that's why it's an art. I believe at Nth degree blackbelts is when TKDists really master the subtleties of deceitful and fast kicking, as well as the setups that make it work. But even before that, a trained TKDist can kick faster than your average street thug can throw a hook at your head. And when it does land, it can take you our of commission for a while.

taekwondo is the best, if your fit for it, so fast and devistating, people underestimate it because they watch the wrong people performing it. they dont realise how fast they can be kissing the ground goodbye with on light speed kick

Judo is derived from the original art of Jiu-Jitsu so there is a lot of carry over between the 2 martial arts. The main difference is there is more emphasis on upperbody throws in judo and less emphasis on the ground when compared to jiu jitsu. Jiu jitsu focuses mainly on ground work and not as much upperbody work as Judo.

They are both good starter martial arts, but very different. While Taekwondo is known for its kicks, WC is known for it hand techniques, but there are many other factors these martial arts focuss on. All I know is that from own experience I enjoyed Taekwondo a lot. btw If you would pick taekwondo also concider which style you would take. There is a more traditional like ITF and a more modern which you see in the Olympics like WTF. They are based on the same thing, but there are many more styles
