A bit of a return back to basics with this one, in which I mean good old line of sight flying, relying only on my ability to fly the plane - no FPV, no autopilots! No idea how long it will stay that way, but my manual flying skills do need some regeneration after years of stabilized FPV! Oh yeah... and the plane is pretty good in the air too!

I’ve been flying a Trainstar ascent 1400 that I’ve been flying as of late. I had the same issue as you as I bought the kit version, needs a lot of weight in the nose. I have since added a SN-L+ fc with gps and Caddx Air unit haha 😂

Sounds like a decent setup! I have not flown the larger Trainstart, but I had the mini one and it was absolutely awesome in the air, I hope the same goes for the big one too!

A great looking scale RC plane. Have seen an example of the full-scale version. Has a large usable space. A family was using as a flying van, traveling across country and camping under the wing in tents at night. It's possible to correct the warped control surfaces, but I would question if worth the effort, as your example is flying very nice. (can't tell from 50m away) Should you live in a region that receives snow, this plane would look awesome on skies. (would require a custom 3d- print, and mod) BTW: in-stock inventory at BG for planes has been limited this past year. Shipping costs have been a major factor, which should improve later this year (ocean contain shipping costs have dropped, but still working way to us consumers).

Very nice looking plane. Looks great in the air. And even if you could still get it, I think it's a bit pricey seeing how badly warped some of it is. Nice to see another video, been a while indeed.

Thanks! Yeah, it does look great, and also yes, I did think it was a bit too pricey for a KIT... especially considering the warped control surfaces, but the paint job was pretty decent.

I will build my Talon GT Kit. I have 4Servos, and 2Brands. Should i Youse the Higher Quality Servos for the VTail or for the Elevons? The higher Quality Servos have less slag or loose or this gear tolerance when I wiggle on the Servo Horn.

The higher quality ones should go in the tail! Even if both ailerons fail, you can still fly the plane using the tail. If the tail fails... amount of quality servos in the ailerons will save it.

I am OK, life is what is going on... and since at some point I couldn't support myself doing this anymore, I had to move my focus elsewhere... and sadly time is scarse right now, so just can't seem to get around to making videos... though I hope I will be able to slowly get back to it soon! :)

After the mapping video with it, it hasn't done much, yes. Been working on other planes, that one had done a lot of flying for that mapping job, so I thought I wouldn't touch it and keep it in that configuration in case another mapping job comes along. :) What do you need to know about it?

have become really rusty to press the like button - but done already. Was a plane of the german post war army therefore the titel HEER, did not belong to the german Luftwaffe / airforce. Is the successor of the war STOL plane used by generals leading from the frontline like Rommel that relied on the Fieseler Storch. They are still in use here, but they are already for 3 or 4 decades in private hand without the camouflage. Should offer a lot of fun and nice behaviour cause the successor of the Fieseler Storch should have improved. But your Spinner architecture looks like heavy metall, at least the 2 bolt edition. I still wonder that the 2 big bolts can work out the inbalance with such a high amount of weight.

UPDATE: the zebra pattern on hobbyking belonged to a famous animal and behaviour researcher called Michael Grzimek who had been killed in a crash in africa after he had a collision with what ? no, not a drone, but a Vulture which had broken the plane or wing and caused the crash. The zebra pattern was his machine for the research adventures. Therefore the 2 patterns, german army and the special zebrat pattern of Michael Grzimek and also of his father. They had released a ton of tv films about the african wildlife and behaviour studies that were sold across the globe. Nice plane but as you had said sold out / no delivery to your country and also a bit expensive with no gear at all.

What's the longest range system you've tested so far? Btw have you tried SIYI HM30's max range at lowest mW?

The SIYI system actually does not vary the mW, it is just changes to the stream timings, allowing more delay in the longer range modes, and limiting bitrate so it can achieve it. As far as SIYI claim, it is set at 320mW. My longest range system... hard to say because so far the limiting factor has been the video system at 32kms.

For the time being, sadly, no. Also, the plane did show its bad temper the last time I flew it and sort of nosed into the ground on take off... just haven't had the time to do an update video since then, not sure I would bother repairing it. Not worth it it seems!

That's a very weird method of balancing a prop. Sanding the heavy blade is the normal way of doing this...🤔😳😳🇬🇧

@@ArxangelRC The explanation is easy. The hub and blades are one entity....Sanding the heavy blade has always worked for me. If the prop is that crap from China, use it for stirring paint instead....🤔😳😳😏😏😏😏🇬🇧 Those bolts sticking out the hub is the most stupid thing I've ever seen ....😳😏🙄

@@EnglishTurbines They are one entity, but if the hole is just a tiny bit off centre... and not in the direction of any of the blades, but in one of the other directions, which don't have a blade on it... how would you balance that by sanding down blades?! You can't! You need to sand down the heavy side of the hub... or... add weight to the lighter side... the only way to reliably add weight if it has to be more than minimal is by adding something heavy, and screwing it in so it won't fly off, hence... the bolts! Besides, if I want to fly the plane and don't really have an alternative prop... its not like I have a choice! Balancer never lies... if it says these bolts have balanced the prop perfectly, then it needed exactly that to be balanced, nothing stupid about it! The results - a super quiet and vibration free operation in the air, is a testament to this not being stupid! It may look crazy, and it is to have a prop this crappy from a factory, but the solution is the right one if it allows the proper use of the prop!

Hi, other things have been eating up my time, but I am slowly working towards a few more videos, hopefully soon! :) As for the MFD link, that is a rebranded Rlink from a while back, but not sure what the issue can be. What output do you have on the receiver? CPPM or SBUS?
