That’s the point. I don’t understand people getting a jab at a company using AI to remove human subjectivity while grading. If this case can provide any kind of insight and information into their system to improve it’s a win. The tool and system is still developed and design with human so it’s not perfect.

Facts. I hope he keeps it and doesn’t send it back to them. Like he said it is pc anyway. They will lower the grade and although it does have that small indent the rest of the card does look clean. He feels the card is clean so that’s all that matters at the end of the day. Don’t let a grading company tell you what it is or isn’t they mess up all the time. Don’t let them take this W away. Close the chapter on this one.

Clean cards within 60/40 that got a 9 at PSA, because they aren't perfectly centered, might still be good candidates to send for an experiment. As per TAG, a Gem Mint 10 needs to have 55/45 front centering. Centering is probably the easiest metric to measure with a computer and imo the most inconsistently applied one at PSA.

What is the logic behind a mistake grade = the card is actually worth that grade?

To explain what we mean, NHOD is the term we use to refer to defects that should not be counted toward grading deductions by the system. The system picks up very small defects that would not be counted toward "industry standard" grading assessment. Our system is designed to replicate industry standards on a consistent basis, not to create a new one that is too high for anyone's liking. Non-Human-Observable-Defects (NHOD) are identified and documented by the technology during the grading process - these primarily include extremely small defects for the most part invisible except under intense magnification. In this case the defect on his card was considered an NHOD when it should have been classified as a defect. NHODs are used primarily to create digital fingerprints of graded cards rather than as factors in TAG’s card grades.
