This video examines how the ebay auctions x9 turned out. How did TAG Compare to PSA as far as secondary market value?

Every MONDAY MORNING: I release a summary video of the top 100 highest selling basketball cards from the PWCC Weekly Auction that ended the night before.
Every FRIDAY afternoon I publish a new Episode of EXPLORE THE CARD which is a highly detailed analysis of a single Michael Jordan insert or parallel card from the 1980s or 1990s including detailed pictures, population history, pricing, availability, and comparable cards. This is a must watch for any true Michael Jordan card collector.
There will be tons of other content in addition to these 2 regular weekly episodes. There will be a heavy emphasis on Michael Jordan cards as well as other cards from the 1990s in addition to many videos regarding INVESTING/PROSPECTING in basketball cards. All of the slabbed cards I personally own that you see in these videos are in my PWCC Vault in Tigard, Oregon. I chose to store these cards in my PWCC Vault to lower costs, insure them, protect them and eliminate the concern of damage resulting from fire, flood, humidity or theft. I do not hold any of my Graded Cards in my personal possession or in my home.

They look great and the grading process takes out the whole "Grader having a bad day" thing and other human inconsistencies. As long as they don't change their grading algorithm down the road, this should be how cards are graded.

I love the way they looked! I guess I will search eBay for tag if they are selling for less than raw. That makes no sense! Thanks though! Great series. I will use TAG for my holds.

Definitely agree with everything you said about TAG being new and fairly unknown also the decline in the market. I think TAG has great potential in the long run. Cajun, you knocked it out of the park brother. You told it like you saw it. You gave us your personal impressions. You revealed what you received. You reported your sales accurately. Then you threw me for a loop. I quote "I don't get paid by PSA, I don't get paid by PWCC etc" Then you add "I don't get paid by anyone". Now I can't stop laughing. Now don't take it personally, but I don't know any poor lawyers who invest the way you do in the hobby. Oh ya, don't change a thing. You make everything fun and entertaining.

I agree that Tag are not for flippers yet. It will likely take several years to get to that point. One issue is discoverability on ebay. They aren't a recognized grader on ebay yet which impacts the search. I do think in time they will get there. For me many of my pc cards that I want to hold long term will go to them as I love how the card looks in their slabs. Great video.

Agree. Need to be in the “grader” drop down menu thingy on eBay. That’s killing them. I wonder what the criteria is to be included amongst the other graders on eBay? 🤷🏻‍♂️

Very cool video. I think automation in grading is needed. The very evident pop control among the major grading companies is a racket. I’m surprised the feds haven’t put some people in cuffs yet. Anywho, where can TAG graded cards be bought if not on eBay?

One thing not helping is the 6000 things that come up when u ebay search TAG 10 RC.. and 5900 of those things are not TAG slabs...

Watched all four videos for tag. I am very impressed with your detailed insight and what tag has to offer. The only thing I disagree with is your value grade. Don't think an F is the right grade. I believe an incomplete would be more appropriate. Tag is what a year or two old, whereas PSA has been around 30 yrs or so. Do the same test in five yrs and see how things go (if tag is still around). Great set of videos.👍

I tried to get some cards graded through TAG yesterday. Was number 675 in the queue. Ended up selling out at around 400- 450. Maybe next time

I like tag, but for grading to sell, I'll have to go PSA, but I think for personal or long term buy, I'm going to go TAG.

The secondary market is it and why PSA is #1. TAG is a good concept, but I would personally sell raw because it cost more to grade the card then ROI.

No sir. Never have never will. I subbed to TAG just for the video and education and to see their process. I send 95% psa for resale value and 5% to bgs depending on the card

Tag will have fo invest in marketing to become a trusted brand. Im sure there values will go up. You will have to convince the big psa whales to come over and to move away from the subjective grading of PSA. I like the slabs and and the grading process its a step in the right direction. 👍

Those prices would have been up a bit if I hadnt got busy and forgot to bid on them this weekend. Prices on basketball have absolutely tanked recently though... For instance I see that some Giannis Prizm RC BGS 9.5's have been going for under $500 lately!! Raws were 450+ just a month ago..

Damn Chris under $500 for Gianni’s bgs 9.5 prizm rc seems crazy low. Wonder If there’s a point coming where it makes sense to buy back in. I sold 22 bgs 9.5 for $22,000 in one lump sum private sale in 2019-20. Can’t remember exactly when. The buyer cracked all of them and subbed to PSA. He actually did great.

I think it's ebay search optimization, when I look for a graded card I add psa to search term and I think everyone else does too. If I were listing I'd say "graded like PSA" or something... Auctions are rough right now, fixed price would've made more money but would've been slower.

Blake i agree with every point you just made. All Correct. I personally didn't see a "graded" "TAG" option either like i see for PSA and BGS and SGC etc. Maybe i missed it? Ebay Auctions are a bloodbath for sellers now on low end stuff especially. Just trying to squeeze blood from a turnip to reinvest in ssp stuff.

i.e. the upside to this is you're going to be able to get TAG graded cards for less than they're actually 'supposed' to be valued at. Just a thought. I'm glad you went through this for other consumers. And as you've said, these weren't like "massive" hits but they're well graded cards and accurate representation of what one might expect. Thanks!

Man this is kinda depressing in a sense cause I feel like TAG is the far superior grading service esp the way they cover every aspect as to why the card got the gade it got plus the whole card score system as well theres many different reasons why theyre def better than psa and bgs i also feel like the seller needs to hold their cards to a higher value an if a comp psa 9 sold for 200 then the seller of the TAG 9 should have a reserve on their card at 200 its how you force the markets hand dont just go giving away the cards cause your short sales are going to tank TAG's grading values !!!

TAG is superior. The masses are just dumb about it still, slow to catch on. But once people figure it out TAG values will usurp PSA. Sucks that PSA gets so much credit when the reality is they are so inconsistent. PSA kinda sucks if we're being honest

PSA bulk 1-2mths now. Going to be tough for any other grading company if they keep on those turn times . TAG going to zero

Is it 1-2 months Austin? I thought it was like 150 business days? I thought i read that somewhere? I'll say this, my last PSA bulk was the $22 i think and it came back hellafast!!! I hope you are right, if PSA is $15 per and 60 days its a wrap, gonna be tough to beat those margins as an investor.
