Here's the review of the Tag Heuer Aquaracer Professional 200 Solar Graph. This is Tag's first ever movement with Solar Quartz. I go over the design and information on the movement. The Superluminova Lume on this watch is incredible, the bezel is unique. Enjoy!

Had one of these for two weeks now, I was one of the first to get from my AD having asked on day of release earlier in the year. Its an incredible watch, the weight of it not mentioned in this review gives it an air of quality. Its a very rare watch too so residuals will be high.

I tend to lean toward higher end quartz these days than mechanicals. They look as nice and built just as well as their mechanical counterparts while being more convenient, durable and require less servicing. The Solargraph a prime example of that!
@DougFNJ
@DougFNJ Год назад
I mentioned 110 grams when I gave dimensions, but should had really gotten a little more into exactly what you say, it’s got a good weight, and the quality is amazing on it. Really been enjoying it. Good catch! These are not easy to get, I believe initial release is extremely limited, and boutiques only. Mine received 2, and both were spoken for. Said they aren’t getting more until beginning of next year.

Love my mechanicals, but never shied away from Quartz. My first everyday watch was a Citizen EcoDrive that I wore for years. When it was announced Tag was releasing a Solar, I called all my dealers and the boutique to hold one for me.

Absolutely my sort of niche watch. I get Japanese practicality and innovation but also my Swiss quality/luxury/whatever ("pretentiousness" seems off brand for Tag). I bought an "electromechanical" Aquaracer Calibre S like 15 years ago, and this seems like a solid purchase to succeed that.

Hey Doug, great video, I've watched this video maybe 10x in the last two days, lol. I just bought this watch in The Bahamas while on vacation. My only gripes is that the watch is a little pricey for what it does. I feel like my PCAT Citizen Eco Drive has waaaay more features at 1/6 of the price. My other gripe is the size, I wish it were 2mm larger, I'm used to having big watches and this just seems a little small. Other than that I'm in love with the watch.
@DougFNJ
@DougFNJ 11 месяцев назад
Thanks for watching, I’m glad it helped! Yes, it’s a standard 3 hander with a date, takes care of the main functions you need, not made in China, and the finish is much better than what you’d find on any Citizen watch. Mind you, Citizen makes a great watch, but that DLC and Carbon finish plus that extra touch with the lume mixed into the bezel is so unique. You made a great choice. I’m with you on the size though, 42mm would had been perfect!
@jackrobhp28
@jackrobhp28 11 месяцев назад
@@DougFNJYou know what? you’re not wrong about the finish, it’s so darn well made. Whenever I take it off and hold it in my hand it just feels so solid and well made, and the lume is out of this world. I like to take my black light to it so that I can charge the lume.

Thanks for reviewing, as I'm a huge Tag fan and while I also have the Aquaracer chrono, (quartz), I fell in love with this pre-launch, but having now viewed your video, I think it's a done deal and I'll buy it. The issue now is, do I buy the one reviewed in black, or instead opt for the titanium model with the lighter finish. Personally, I think the luminescence of this model sways it for me, but let's wait and see. Thanks again

I'll admit that having inspected both models, I found them a little small for me (and light), for me and I wish that they'd have opted instead for a slightly larger frame, 42mm-43mm, (like my other Aquaracer), would have been sweet, so no Solargraph for me, sadly @@DougFNJ

I love this design (I have the 300M new Aquaracer) but love the 200M series as well, especially the quartz. I do find it hard to justify the price they ask for what is essentially an Eco Drive movement and I have a few Citizen Eco Drives with perpetual calendar (which this doesn't have ). Maybe I am wrong in seeing it this way, I know Tag Heuer is premium and their designs and marketing speak to it, but still, it's an Eco Drive movement and 15 years from now, I don't know if you can service it like a standard quartz)
@DougFNJ
@DougFNJ Год назад
Pricing for Tag Heuer is what it is unfortunately, but you do get what you pay for. Yes, they use the same technology that’s in the eco drive, but it is made in Switzerland. The DLC treatment is superior to anything I’ve gotten in a Citizen, and the Carbon bezel is amazing. That’s not putting down Citizen mind you, they make a great watch, but this one is better. That is also totally my biased opinion lol.

Quartz is reliable and accurate. It’s weakness is battery life. I believe Solar fixed that. I’ve had solar watches for over 15 years that I still have yet to need to change the battery. The mechanical purist doesn’t like quartz because they feel it doesn’t have the soul and heartbeat of a mechanical. But they will be quick to point out to someone questioning accuracy on a mechanical to get a quartz lol.
