A bit late to the party, but these are the first 3 minutes in english: [Female voice] This is the first german television ["Erste deutsche Fernsehen", the first and one of the most important broadcasting companies in germany] presenting the review of the day ["Tagesschau" main evening newscast of germany]. [German television commentator of the game] Schürle. That one is received. Do it! Do it! He does it! [Rough translation of "machen", which is usualy used as "to do something". But "mach ihn rein" or the short form "mach ihn" is shorthand for "shoot a goal"] Mario Götze! This is madness ["wahnsinn" -> madness is a metaphor for amazing.] [Fade in to Linda Zervakis] And with this good evening Ladies and Gentlemen. Welcome to Tagesschau. An amazing [she uses "Wahnsinn" again, but this time amazing is more appropriate] success for the german football national team and huge cheers at the award ceremony. Thanks to Mario Götzes goal at minute 113 minute of play the team of the DFB [Deutscher Fußballbund, german football organisation] won the final of the worldchampionship against argentinia with 1:0. It was the first first place in 24 years. The team celebrated intensively in relation to the triumph. [Cut to the team] Yeeeees, we are rolling, bro [boy would have been more accurate, but i find bro more fitting] [Narator] This has to be preserved for history. They are world champions in football, and now at partying, too. The long night of Rio. [Team, in the Background] Number one! Number one! The number one thats who we are! [Niersbach, president of DFB] What these Men [He uses Truppe, a word for troop] have done in the last eight weeks is phenomenal. It was not an eleven that stood on the grass [eleven is a normal metaphor for football team in germany], it was not a thirteen - 23 men formed a unity. [Narator] A unity, that was not willing to let go in the end. The fourth title was won by a team that always believed in itself. 24 years after the last triumph this team has become world champion. [Löw] The players went far beyond their limits today. They have never given so much before to reach something they never had: To take the trophy with them home. [Narator] Some needed a little longer to understand what they did this evening. Mario Götze incredulous at the party and before in the stadium. He of all people became the hero of the nation. [Klose] I said to Mario, before he came into the game, i felt he was going to make it. I am really glad for him. He deserved it. [Narator] Only close before the end of time Klose made way for Mario Götze, who lost his regular place in the line-up [here the word "Stammplatz" is used, which can also be used in different contexts] only to shoot germany a title seven minutes before the end [to shoot germany a title -> Deutschland einen Titel zu schießen. Sounds wonky in english]. The greatest let down of the championship became the savior ["Heilsbringer" this is very interesting. This word is often times used in a religious sense. Shows how serious this is] [Götze] I am very thankfull for the team. I think i did my part. It is a nice feeling that we have become world champions. It is very neat to do this here in brazil [very loose translation, but he really sounds a bit knocked over the head. I dont blame him] [Narator] The whole world is looking on the team. It has earned to bring the trophy to germany. A team that stuck together and time and time again produced new heroes. In the final game it was Mario Götze who caused the decision. The party was able to start. Usually the tagesschau is way, way less patriotic in its wording. This really was an exceptional circumstance. It is highly unusual to that Tagesschau starts with a clip and not with anchor in the studio. I never saw a Tagesschau like this.
I'm not even a german and understand nothing about german but this was on my recommend. Anyway time flows really fast, Still remember the moment germany won the WC in 2014.
Alta!
