You ladies are a joy. Freezing cold, snow, wind, but smiling faces. "We're freezing, but we're just gonna hike. It's what we do". The town food looked hot and yummy. You earned it.
Wow crazy weather. You are freezing and our state is having more 90 degree days then ever before!! Hope your weather warms up. Thanks for sharing the beautiful scenery and your amazing journey. Happy Trails!!
What a difference a month makes! When I did the section between Showers Lake and the junction in July a few years ago, it was like a botanical garden, just loaded with meadows full of waist high flowers. And I never changed out of shorts the entire hike, it was so hot. When people ask what a trail is like, the "when" is essential!
You two are great. Even in the worst of conditions you are upbeat. You put your town faces on and hike on. I run, hike and bike. I once did a cross country bike ride with another biker. He was the opposite. On a nice sunny day I would comment on the day to 2hich he would comment we are going to get fried. Next day it looked overcast so I commented we would enjoy some protection from the sun. His reply we were going to get washed off the Highway. So nice to see a positive attitude and a town face..
You are such a joy to follow, always making the best of any situation. I live in Truckee/Tahoe area part-time, I feel like it might not be the friendliest of trails you have traveled, but it is beautiful, I hope you are enjoying your adventure, when it is cold in the Tahoe area, it is no joke. Happy Trails.
Ooooooooo!!!!!!! You remind me: NEVER Leave Home w/o my long johns! Fall came early this year - after about one.five months of summer. Summer was HOT - which made it seem longer than it was. Now: time to prepare for Winter (and we are still in the month of August!). You two never cease to amaze me! I hope your great attitudes continue to rub off on me. Kristi, after summiting your final uphill climb, when you let out an unscripted ‘Gee Whiz’ (loosely translated…) about how exhausting that climb had been, you earned even more of my favorable view of you both. So often you just put a good face on it (…CS Lewis); this time you shared your true grit. Much love and admiration for showing just what you guys are made of - quintessential role models!!! Thank you for sharing it all - even the part that’s a slog. Keep on keeping on!
They are role models alright. Makes me proud to be a fellow Coloradoan. I experienced a sudden 4th of July snow storm in Estes Park, Colorado once. Kind of magical to see fat flakes fill the sky and melt just as they touched the ground.
You two are tough cookies! You always amaze and encourage me to get my butt out! Big time sad about no charge places, but any food I know was better than what you had left…. Right. I would have ate two sandwiches!!!!. I’m sure you guys got enough to get you to the next stop. Wow cold spell! Keep on keeping on! Love you two big time!
OMGosh! You must be up pretty high up, to get snow and icy rain! But, leave to you two, to go forward with a smile on your face and that positive attitude of yours! You know how, when you are watching an Olympic race and you get so engrossed with the runners that your body gets tense and it starts moving in stride with the runners? I’m doing that with you two! Even though I’m sitting back in my Lazy Boy, my legs are moving with every step Nettie takes!! Too funny! By the end of this video, I’m exhausted from shivering in your cold and walking every step of the way!! I’m just laughing at myself!! 😂
Another absolutely gorgeous one.. I felt so bad for you all in the cold 🥶.. glad you were able to warm up with some yummy food.. 😊 Thank you for sharing.
Perfect! Desna and I thinking of you yesterday as the squalls kept coming and the temps dropped. We hit the Fox & Hound quite often after trail runs, etc, but we weren't sure it would be open on Sunday morning, a dramatic tension in the video. Town faces for sure!! Hope these last few sections are nice; really hope their are a few flowers left in the area of Snow Valley Peak, it was still splendid last month. Thanks for the shout-out to Desna, she loved that nice surprise and great encouragement. Sure hope our paths cross again. Keep going.
Windy and cold, that type of weather has been a while for you two. The videos continue to be awesome. I'd like to make a shout out to both of you for all the work you put into bringing us along. I was thinking it's not just take a video---you have to have a program for editing, getting music etc. Then you have to be able to keep your phone charged. You have to have a network to send us your adventures. This all is know how, expense and time on your part. Thank you for a great channel. Take care, be safe.
