Taiao is being updated with new features, making it easier to build and animate complex trees and plant life.
The Growth Point layer in toPlant has been given some advanced controls for the scattering of Taiao objects on scene geometry. Plant life scattering can be driven by vertex maps and shaders, with controls for random scale and rotation variation. Clever spacing options prevent scattered objects from intersecting and multi-instances are supported for ultimate efficiency.
toLeaf has a brand new layering system for the modeling and animation of leaf veins. Multiple layers can be introduced to create even the most complex leaf vein systems. Each layer has its own separate modifier stack for ultimate control of turbulence and bend effects.
There are also improvements to the furling modifier across all toPlant layers, making it easier to fine-tune furling effects along the length of an object. The new Angle Bias control offers highly detailed artistic control of furling effects, negating the need for multiple furling layers.
