Drumming is physically harder, but I wouldn't say one or the other is overall "easier" than the other. Controller play will have more advantages in more situaitons, but It's mostly just a play style preference. Certain things are just going to be easier on controller. Playing in general require less effort and energy due to the nature of pressing buttons vs hitting a drum with a stick. You're also going to be able to destroy drum rolls on controller vs drum via button mashing, and you're going to be able to play almost whenever you feel like it, wherever you are. However when playing on controller, there's less feedback physically and audibly. You're likely going to need to visually understand patterns better than someone playing a drum. For drums, you have the opportunity hear when you're off beat (although I don't always hear when I'm drifting). Since you're literally playing the drum, you also have the option to play things without visually comprehending them if you can understand how something should sound. It doesn't come into play in this video as much, but there are other higher level videos I've uploaded where I don't necessarily visually comprehend something, but I can work my way through chart sections because I understand what the chart is trying to do musically. However you're playing the drum, so you can't play whenever and wherever you want, and your energy is more likely to give out playing the drum than playing on controller Technically Standing Don is in this game as an avatar, but it's not the same. I do believe they took the best path forward with just allowing you to customize a single avatar. In Drum n Fun, every avatar was locked down with an ability, so you couldn't for example, have Kirby as your avatar without drastically changing how the game worked
@@undefined0_ Absolutely. I usually don't do it when I know I'm specifically trying to record a video though. There's a higher chance of me looking at the recording, hating it, and then throwing it away. On stream, riffs are fair game. IMO, if you make the riffs works it's better proof that you comprehend the rhythms of the chart. It also can make slower charts far more interesting
