In Taiwan, the legislative branch passed a law in 2011 allowing heavy motorcycles with an engine displacement of 550cc or higher to use the highways, but the transportation authorities have not enforced it for over 10 years. The main reason for this is that motorcycles are generally considered dangerous, but the real danger stems from systemic issues in Taiwan's overall transportation design.
